The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

I mean, I'm happy that people are losing weight, and at first I was all about this dude walking again. But then the plugs kept coming so hard and fast, and the production seemed to be very infomercial-like, so I actually started to feel like I just got scammed into thinking it was cool this guy beat the odds.

Did you run part of it, or did you just fall down a bit? :p 16 mph? Jeesh.
I think my phone picked up parts where I had to jump across creek beds. Unfortunately the river is quite high and some parts were impassable so we had to improvise.

Still a nice hike; I couldn't have done it, given those altitude changes.

5.5 hours, 20km and 29000 steps, I shouldn't have been able to do it. In fact, I just got up from a long nap on the couch wondering if I actually did do it.

10km mark @ 10AM. Stopped for a snack and a dip in the F'ING COLD WATER.

I hate to admit it, but I agree. Of course, a lot of the push he received in WCW resulted from being friends with Bischoff. I felt he still proved himself, but that's how he got the push in the first place, from what I understand.[DOUBLEPOST=1341713159][/DOUBLEPOST]And if this is the sort of work he does now, I'm totally okay with it.

Holy shit

How long you in the kootenays for?

I can't believe I finished everything in time for SDCC. I just...YAY!!! I'm completely done with my costumes and couldn't be happier. Now to pack tomorrow and leave Wed! Woot!

I don't know how much my new employer digs in to people online yet. Don't want to post details publicly until I learn the culture of the company.

Last year, me and Made Ya Blush went to one of the Toronto Nerd Cons. Don't remember which one; it might've been the Anime one that we both hated due to the booth we worked at.

Anyway, I had picked up a a new Superman shield shirt, specifically a Kingdom Come shirt. But it was a little too tight on me. And it's been stuck in my closet, unworn, since buying it. While I was living in the states, I tried it on a few times and it was just depressing. At one point, it was so tight, I couldn't even pull it down past my chest.

But since I moved back to Fredericton, I've been much more active. The past three weeks, I've been biking 4km a day (2 km to and 2km back) for a summer course. Plus, this month of July, I've been doing DDP's YRG yoga quite a lot. I've already started to see some results, like being able to wear some of my favourite shorts again.

And today...I tried on the Kingdom Come shirt again.

It fits.

It's still a little tight; too tight to wear without feeling fat...but it fits and I don't think it's as tight as when I first tried it on last year!

So...getting there. :D

Got back last night and ...DAMN son, is California chilly! We had a great time. Brian Posehn opened for Patton; I got to hear a lot of great new material and watched a guy and girl on a first date. The girl was squirming over Posehn's fart jokes.

Coronado was gorgeous. The drive up to San Francisco was gorgeous. So many great memories. Back to reality... maybe one day I'll invent something awesome, and we can fritter away our days in a beach somewhere, cooking, laughing, and waking our neighbors :unibrow:

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip! If you don't mind my asking, where did you stop/what did you see on the drive up to SF?

I will get our pictures on the computer soon! Tress, we didn't stop much because our time was limited. Our first flight was cancelled, and it took some doing to actually get there. Set us back a bit. However we did stop at a few little rocky beaches along the way just to enjoy the view. One of them had a path, and we walked around for a long time. Beautiful place. We wanted to stop in Monterey, but we decided to press on instead. Next time. :)

Great, more awesome news:

This fall my stories will be getting some attention at a convention place in D.C. Still need to find out dates and the like, but it'll essentially be my first book signing opportunity, and a few of my fairy tales will be adapted to live performance! Can't wait to see that.

The timing is also great (allegedly October) since I'm releasing my first novel before then and it'll be a good chance to slide the audience of the fairy tales from those to the longer story. So signings, performance, shilling--I'm excited.

This is sort of a half rant, half epic win...but more leaning toward "epic win."

For the first time since I started doing yoga again regularly, I did the full 1-hour YRG workout today. And it destroyed me. I'm really not ready for it, yet. There were times near the end that I had to go into child's pose (almost like you're prostating/praying position) that they suggest to use if you get tired and need to stop or if something is too hard. I had to use it a couple of times.

By the end of the workout, I was drenched in sweat.

But I still managed to finish it, despite having to stop a few times. So that's a win for me.

It just sucks because I used to be able to do an hour and a half of yoga, non-stop, and then still have energy left later in the day to go for a 10km run. I miss being in that good of shape. :(

Just remember, Nick, you're doing more than you did yesterday which is more than you were doing a week ago or a month ago. Baby steps and you'll get there!

My 6 year old daughter loves building the projects at Home Depot at the Kid's Workshop once a month, so today I took it to the next level. Power tools! Today we drafted and cut out a house for the Tooth Fairy to rest in when she comes to visit, tomorrow we will nail together and decorate it. (My 10 year old son would have probably enjoyed this activity too, but since the end result was going to be something girly he wanted nothing to do with it.)

Of course, we got overeager on the size, and thus this is more like a Tooth Fairy mansion, but SO WHAT.
