[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

Fuck you. I'm on my phone, didn't want to look up the spelling, and auto correct just kind of shrugged and cried.
It's a joke, dude :p It's just funny how both you and Necro throw random i's in there (and LOTS AND LOTS of people over at diii.net and such as well), when there's no i in there anywhere, and it doesn't even sound like there would be, to me.

...I mean, err, FUCK YOU RIGHT BACK! Image macro! Thread derail! Funny gif!

Fuck yeah fuck you! Fuck!

Well, they sort of mean 1b+2. I guess. Except 2b - angels and demons instead of angels and humans. Because there weren't any humans before angels and demons had fun time.

How it supposedly works is that Angels and Demons had some fun time :unibrow: and we ended up with a race of superhumans (the Nephalem) who were deliberately depowered via the worldstone; some still managed to break free and reach their potential (Kulle). With the Worldstone gone, alle humans are once more growing stronger and realizing their true potential - as if we're all living as long as Adam and Eve and are all as strong as Achilles. Fair enough.
But that creation story means there ARENT any non-Nephalem humans. But in DIII they're playing it up as if only a select few have the "power to ascend" or something - and the PC is special because of this. And that's just wrong according to their own lore...Or they're horribly confusing.
It doesn't contradict their lore. Kulle was killed before the worldstone depowered everyone into human beings. The reason he's immortal and was able to be resurrected wasn't because he was a Nephalem, it was because of all the black magic that he was working before the rest of the Nephalem realized what he was doing and cut him up to pieces. I get the understanding that not only were the Nephalem depowered with the creation of the World Stone, but also that they were hunted down and slaugthered. That's what I got from the missions to get the sword pieces.

Kulle came long, long after the creation of the worldstone, I thought. Hence his research into the soulstones and a way to return humanity to their powers.

So anyway...To talk about the game itself a bit...

4. Seriosuly, who thought "Maghda" was a good name for a villain? It's a normal female name. It's nothing special. Our old housekeeper was named Magda. Adding an -h- doesn't make a name ominous or magical. See also: Leah.
...villains can't have normal names, now?

Y'know, I think Hardcore mode actually might solve the vast majority of the issues that I've had with the gameplay on D3.

Feel like you're being forced into using the AH when you want to get your own gear drops? Fuck that noise, I'm playing HC, I'll take any advantage I can get.
Normal, NM, and Hell difficulties too boring because they're so easy you can faceroll/zerg them? Oh hell no, I gotta pay attention to what I'm doing at all times, or wind up dead to my own stupidity/lack of attention.
Getting bored of just slowly plodding along in a straight line, bashing into mobs? Straight lines'll get you killed, you gotta zigzag like a fleet of battleships in unfriendly waters.

Still can't do anything about the story, but honestly, who cares about the story (or lack thereof) when you're really, really trying not to get yourself killed? And the additional benefit (to me) is that I started up a Hardcore DH, and since I never played a DH pre-1.0.3 past maybe level 7 or 8, I have no expectations to be crushed by the nerfs.

I was wrong, Kulle isn't even a nephalem, he was a rogue member of the Horadric order. They're just plain old humans. Kulle still doesn't break the lore, though, because he became what he is not due to his nephalem potential, but (as I said before) his use of dark magic in his research to create the soulstones.

It was Tyriel who commissioned him to create the soulstones to imprison the prime evils. He formed the Horadric order at the same time. They were just normal humans who were exceptional mages.

The bad thing about diablo 3 is, even though it's nowhere near as good as I thought it would have been, and pales in comparison to what 2 was, I'd still play it if only they'd stop breaking the damn thing.

Eh, as someone who has clocked hundreds of hours into both games I think I can say with quite a lot of confidence that D3 is better than D2 in a lot of ways. Just not as better as it should have been, and the one place it's really lacking is in the itemization and that's a really integral part.

Letting you legit respec your DiabloII character's skill points the way you can do with Runes in DiabloIII would probably make DiabloII 10x more fun to play.
stutter stutter stutter. What... the.... f.....
Probably not a file access bottleneck, then. Hopefully the drive was in AHCI mode and the drivers (if needed) are installed.

As far as I know, the stutter is a problem with the new patch, and not a problem with people's machines. I was rocking out max settings smooth as butter before the patch, and now I do the stutter dance.

As I've stated before: everyone with "great" gaming rigs I know is suffering; whereas people like me who live on the edge (of the minimum sysreqs) got faster.
I'm not sure who's at fault, but I'll bet the problem'll be resolved either through patch 1.0.3a, or through "install newer drivers" (which probably aren't out yet).

People still playing this game? I haven't played it in a couple weeks. Torchlight, on the other hand...

I'm slogging so hard to get to inferno but I don't know if I'm going to make it. The shit-tastic drops and boring repetition is getting to me. I'm level 54 though so I'm getting close.

Man... I really wish they'd let us auction more than 10 things at a time, per account. I know that it would completely swamp the AH server(s), but 10 at a time with no ability to cancel un-bid-upon auctions is so damn slow. I have 4 mules and 2 stash tabs completely full of equipment, which I've very carefully gone through and pruned the outright rubbish gear out of, and it's going to take me years to sell everything - and that's just on the HC side of my account.

That said, still having fun on HC mode. My DH died at level 23 to a random cave exploration in the desert - got mobbed by a bunch of fast little beasts, vaulted out of the mob only to land in the middle of another massive one and just couldn't get out of it - but I have a level 35 wizard in Act 1 NM, and I've been having a blast with this one. Right now I need to farm some more gold though. Gotta upgrade my gear and I'm tapped out right now. Hopefully some of my rares will sell today while I'm at work and I'll be able to list some of the rings and amulets I have building up in my stash. There always seems to be a market for rings and amulets, as long as you don't overprice them.

ETA: Oh yeah, and the same issue from Softcore mode persists in HC; boss fights in NM and Hell are not guaranteed to drop rares, just magic items. I'm still seeing a lot more rares drop overall in HC mode, though, and have gotten three or four legendary pieces drop. They weren't exactly the best pieces of gear out there, though one was actually an upgrade for the slot for me, but it was still exciting to see it drop, and they all sold for a pretty nice chunk of change on the AH.

Playing on and off, mainly waiting for Torchlight II to go live. Still enjoying it, but I haven't touched my Inferno Barb in almost a month outside of logging into him once to hand off some items to a friend.

Yeah, I've pretty much stopped playing. Put in some severe time and really enjoyed it but as I like to say: "meh, I get it".
