[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

Ha! Truth be told I get up around 5:30am every day except for weekends anyway so... I think the biggest change will be the constant interruptions in sleep schedule (which I hear vary from baby to baby).

Today is actually our due date... I don't think we are gonna see this kid till next week though. She's just chillin' right now.

Our second slept through the night until like 8 am after only 6 weeks. We panicked and called the doctor, who said, "Hmm. This is what you need to do. Drop to your knees, clasp your hands together in front of you and say a prayer of thanks."

Our 2yr-old fusses a bit when put to bed (doesn't want to go to sleep yet, wants to play with Dad, etc) but is usually quiet by 9:30. Assuming nothing happens at night, we start hearing him at around 8a or so. There are times when he doesn't start making noise until 10a. And yes, we already know exactly how good we have it.

What is with the backlash this year about the Supermoon? Okay, yeah, it's a silly word. Yeah, it happens all the time. Yeah it was coined by an astrologer, and yeah, most people (all people?) won't notice a difference (it's only 14% larger). But, fellow scientists, instead of looking down our noses at the "hype", shouldn't we be happy that the public is taking an interest in astronomy?

it's a trap? Our cruisers can't repel firepower of that magnitude!? You can see here, the Death Star orbiting the forest moon of Endor. Although, the weapon systems on this Death Star or not yet operational, the Death Star does have a strong defense mechanism. It is protected by an energy shield which is generated from the nearby forest moon of Endor??????

So on monday, my co-worker never showed up and it was ridiculously busy, on wednesday they didn't show up again, but it was a bereavement issue (which might prove to be BS, whole other story) and today/tomorrow, because of people "not being able to show up" I'm gonna be working most of an open to close and a complete open to close solo.

rage.

A game store. Also the boss is on vacation next week and the rest of this week, so...

I almost expect to see many more days like these coming up.

I remember those days fondly, ugh my heart goes out to you, really, I did that for years and it is complete and utter shite that people cant be responsible

Yaaaay. I'm finally going home now. I think it wouldn't be as frustrating if I was able to at least have a break.

My old dog gave me quite a fright this morning. I got up to let the dogs out. I put the puppy's crate near where the dog sleeps. I pick up the puppy and call out to the dog. He doesn't move. I reach up and turn on the ceiling fan light. He doesn't move. I bend over and shake him gently. He doesn't move.

I run the puppy to the door and put him out, and race back to my dog's side. He is very lightly breathing. I lift his paw in my hand, he pulls back a little. He does not wake up. I take my other hand and open his eye. He does not wake up.

Then he starts "running in his dream." He soon stops, hops up and trots over to the door to be let out....

I was damn near crying, trying to figure out if I could even afford to have a vet put him down. Then, POOF, he was back to normal.

One of out cats does that. She'll lay there seeming to not even move and noise doesn't wake her up, so I put my hand on her and feel nothing. Then when I pick her up, after a few seconds she squirms about while waking up.

Got 4.5 hours of sleep this morning, I'm not sure if there's enough coffee in the world to keep me awake today, especially since it's so gorgeous outside, I just wanna go out and lay in the grass and nap. Also, have to deal with one of my least favorite scenarios at work today - two divorced parents who can't behave civilly toward each other trading insults and using their deceased child's email account as just another pawn in their never-ending fight against each other, and trying to get Microsoft to take sides.
