Yeah, but to be fair, target-dependent accuracy is a staple in any movie involving guns. I didn't hate Land. It seems (I hope I'm right) to have been made cheesy on purpose for whatever reason.

I don't think so. It was his first time working with a major studio, and his unhappiness with the experience of working with the big wigs is what drove him back to indy filmmaking for Diary and Survival. Which makes me think he had a lot less control over it than he'd like.

But if Survival is that bad, it clearly can't all be blamed on Universal.

Don't forget, Land had Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright in it as cameos.
Which is always good :)

But more agreement from here, Survival was just goddamn stupid. You didn't give a damn about the people who got bitten, and at one point I just started wondering if they just started to make up weird-ass ways to kill a zombie. I think one involved a fire extinguisher to the mouth, or something...?

The Hatfield-McCoy analogy feud didn't strike any interest either because very little time was spent establishing those characters beyond "Fat guy wants to keep dead close" vs "Old guy wants dead to stay dead". They're just two guys harping at each other, without any emotional involvement to the audience.

And yes, the whole horse-eating shit? Not even going to touch that brain fart...

It is! I have the pic Sera posted, but I couldn't get the file size small enough to use it as my avatar.

I was going to use this one, but it got cut off to look like Han Solo was itchy and needed a scratch.

Heh. No, I wasn't not posting because I was offended by the comments. I honestly had that hard of a time finding my post again :)

Yes, I meant I'm asexual, and no, not bisexual (and I'd prefer it if you acknowledge I'm a girl, not a guy ;) ). There's been, as evidenced here, a lot more confusion about it than there has been prejudice against my orientation. I feel I've been fairly open-minded, and questions are always welcomed. Only my mom's reaction (saying "You're just confused," "It's a phase," and "I can't accept it" all without directly saying them) and my brother's (2 steps away from bringing the Bible into it) have really gotten under my skin.

Because of the lesbian content of Angels2200, I didn't visit the site, and anyone who's had a coming out experience (or has known someone who has could relate) knows that your mind plays tricks on you, thinking that somehow, some way, everything you do could eventually come to light. Quite far from the reality of things, but I feel that part of my thinking came from growing up in a conservative community and being involved in several youth organizations who don't have a history of acceptance and understanding. I still find myself occasionally avoiding looking at women I find attractive just because I felt people were judging me in regards to that for the past 15 years, but then I remember I'm out, and I don't have to think like that any more. My housemates and I have come up with the term, like admitting publicly you're homosexual is coming out of the closet, the term for asexuals is coming out of the hallway :)

All in all, that's the extent of my introduction. Looking forward to talking with everyone, participating in the craziness, and reading an Angels2200 comic in the near future.

Honestly, my biggest confusion was why anyone would have a problem with it.

I can to an extent understand people being weirded out by homosexuality, but the concept of people being weirded out by not wanting to have sex at all just didn't click.

Generally, I thought most societies welcomed chastity.

Anywhoo, I think that's cleared it up.

Vilkomen.

Also, Angels 2200 hasn't updated for over a year, so I don't really know what's going on with that front.

Welcome (back), and let me state that my "brofist" rating is the best I can do, given how we don't have an equivalent for between a guy and a girl. Hope you like it. :)

:hump:
Yes, that's right. Brofists are the direct platonic same sex equivalent to sex. I said it.
How does that make you feel, bhamv? knowing that I just brofisted you SO HARD ?

Some people see the fact that I'm a woman attracted to women as well as men and that's where their understanding stops, doesn't matter if it's sexual in nature or not *shrugs*

I welcome brofists. I've always been a good balance between the masculine and feminine--cooking, cleaning, athletics, high adventure, medieval/fantasy reenactment, literature--so I don't mind :) And I really wish Angels would update. This year has been agonizing!

Man, you're lacking on your education... Girls have cooties, we're just gross. :shakes head wondering about the future of the world:

;)
Well soooorryyy for getting it wrong, you know perfectly well my district school board changed our cooties-ed to abstinence-only, so it's not like I'm able to get the necessary information from school.
