...Shyeah, no kidding. LA suddenly looks like the best team in the post season. After Boston and Pittsburgh were eliminated, I was thinking it'd be either St Louis or Nashville hoisting the cup this year. Starting to think it could very well be the Kings.

Playoffs, man, they're unpredictable!

Turns out the kings are the real deal for sure. I'm kind of rooting for the Phoenix wins it all only to relocate the following season storyline.

3-1 comeback is doable jwhouk don't despair. We may yet have cause to see the catfish fetchers this spring.

I didn't see the Rangers/ Caps game cause I was at the Toronto Rock game (They won! On to the next round of the playoffs where they'll play Rochester, a team they've beaten in every game this season :D). But when we went to the bar afterwards I saw the post game highlights. Is Ovie getting a hearing for the charge on Girardi? I can't find anything about it and when I saw the highlights, like I said it was at the bar, so the sound was off. I know Girardi wasn't injured on the play, so it wouldn't really surprise me if they didn't take it that far especially seeing as Ovechkin has the star power, but I'm just curious. TSN is failing me on this one.

You go to many NLL games?

Just started going this year, but this was our 4th time out. We always sit front row, just inside the attacking zone. Saw them play Calgary, Edmonton, Washington, and now Buffalo. We've got our tickets for next week's game against Rochester too, and should the Rock win that, we've already reserved our front row seats for the final as well.

We were completely hooked like 5minutes into the first game of the season.

Well, we have our first sweep of the playoffs, and our first point handed out in our pool:

I think we collectively FAILED predicting that series.

Charging penalty in game, no hearing. Right call, I think.
Yeah that's kind of what I figured. I imagine if there was a hearing, finding a story on it would be much easier. Seeing as there was no injury as a result and how the officiating works, it makes sense too.

The crowd was enjoying that game!

And I love that the fans throw a Kardashian on the ice instead of a catfish.

I should have known better than to bet on Brian Elliott carrying a team through multiple rounds. What really gets me though, is that in a game 4 where they're in danger of being swept, the Blues only managed 4 shots in the first period, and 24 overall. Not a whole lot of desperation there...

He's a very good goalie for stretches, then a very mediocre goalie for other stretches. I remember an 11-game winning streak on an average Ottawa team, then having to replace him with Pascal Leclaire in the playoffs when he forgot how to stop pucks. He was excellent in the first round, then he had a couple average games in the middle of this series, and then he wasn't good enough to outdo Quick to get them back in the series.

It's far from completely his fault that they lost, but like I said - it was a mistake to expect him to carry a team for 4 rounds. He's no Quick, Rinne, or - apparently still - Brodeur.

You can't take shots on goal if the puck never gets a chance to get there. 24 shots on goal, but another five blocked and 11 more wide of the net.

New Jersey now leads the series 3-1. I dunno guys, I think we kinda suck at making these predictions.
On a side note, when we went to the Rock game yesterday we showed up mega early, and checked out the RealSports apparel shops in the ACC before the game. They had Hartford Whaler and Quebec Nordiques jerseys, and I have to say I was a little tempted.

Wait - they actually had Whalers jerseys? Those are like "holy grail" for hockey fans who didn't get them before the team bolted for the Triangle.

Yeah, tonnes of them. They're making new ones, I guess. They had "Vintage" on the label, and were actually CCM jerseys, not Reebok like the current jerseys are.

About damn time.

[edit] realizing that this next season will be the 40th for the franchise.

And our Round 3 Western Conference is confirmed to be Phoenix and Los Angeles.

I should have asked for clarification refarding your rules, HCGLNS, does Vrii get his points for the OT prediction, or do you only get points for predicting the number of games/ number of Overtimes if you also get the team prediction right?
