Serious question. Is there anyone near you who has a PS account? Is there anyone HERE who has a PS account that would be willing to help Nick out? I don't have a PS3 so it would not be possible for me to help out.

I've been so pissed off that I can't laugh, too. Feel better, Nick. I think some things were taken in a way that they were not meant, but I know how it feels to hate where you're living and to feel like nothing will make the situation better. Hope you find something to take your mind off of things... and maybe find someone to take that card off your hands.

*shrugs* I used to work at Shoppers Drug Mart, and I know that all electronic gift cards are non-refundable. They say so on each of them individually, on the cardboard backing they're stuck too, and usually, the refund policy is printed on the receipt. Sometimes their is added signage in stores displaying that fact. I also know that with our store, anyway, it was procedure to let customers know when buying electronic gift cards that refunds and exchanges are not possible with gift cards.

There are too many creative ways people have come up with to exploit electronic gift cards, so you need to do your homework and read carefully whenever you buy them.

Its stupid that Canadian PSN and American PSN is not the same, but I'm sure that's some legal/ tax reason (We hae McDonald's Canada, HBO Canada, Coca-Cola Canada, etc, it stands to reason Sony's Canadian content would also be overseen by a different entity than the American counterparts). Nothing to do with the currency exchange (I'd be shocked).

That being said, I wouldn't have thought of it either, but I can't really join in your rage towards Walmart and PSN over this, as virtually NONE of the people you're talking to are in any way at fault for it.

So Nurse Cutie tells me last night on text that she hasn't seen anyonelse since we started seeing each other (Going on a month now). It was a response to my question of "Have you seen John Carter". Which kind of took me back a bit. I pretty already knew that, as anytime she's actually been off from work, she's spent it with me or with family, but it almost felt like something was "implied" by the way she put it. I didn't really respond to it and continued our conversation. Not sure if she was expecting me to respond in any certain kind of way but I'm sure I didn't give her a response she wanted. *shrug* I dunno. I've honestly been waiting for the moment she wants me to spend some time with her + kid and then I'll have cross that subject I've so deftly dodged for this long...... I can't imagine that'll go well either. Bleeeeeeh.

Ha. I don't mean to laugh at your troubles, but that's a funny answer to "have you seen John Carter?"

Cut. And. Run.

I dunno if it's "crazy" or just trying to subtly drop me a "clue". I'm leaning toward the latter but either way probably won't end well. I mean I never expected things to last on this level for long as it was pretty much just small date/booty call kind of thing for the past month, but the moment any kind of "relationship" talk hits, I know it's going to be over.

I think your best move is to just handle this in the most mature way possible.

"Ay, girl. Ain't dis a hang n' bang sitch?"

Should clear it up.

She's a nurse, are you sure it wasn't just "sleep-deprived"? Hard to know without having heard the tone of voice, but maybe there is a John she's seen and her tired brain just ignored that the last name was wrong and that there was no reason for you to ask about him. There are a number of reasons her mind could have jumped to not spending time with others than wanting you to know she's only spending time with you.

Nah, she's probably just crazy, or will be after spending time around you. :awesome:

Though not on purpose, I haven't seen anyonelse but her since we started. Mostly because of my schedule too. Also, knowing that I have something pretty guaranteed every now has really left me not giving much of a damn of getting back into social circles. I pretty much go to work, go out to buy a few things here and there, see her or play games at home.

Seems like a perfect time to use the "I don't want the pressure of being the only social life you have, it's not good for either of us." excuse.

I've calmed down, but still in a slightly depressed state. The whole PSN card crap triggered a lot stuff that I've been feeling. Trapped and isolated in a small town with jack shit to do. Barely anything in the way of a social life because there's few people here to relate to or even to talk to. No dating life. Coming home to just a cat every night and spending too much time on the computer because I have nothing else to do or feel like doing anything else. Which has also meant that I've gained weight. Been having no motivation to do school work since coming back from the Christmas break.

Anyway, I'm sorry about the outburst. I'll be honest, when I came on here to post this, I saw both fade's comment and SaraRelm's "joke" in their own thread, and seriously considered just leaving HF. Because it might be funny to you, but it's upsetting to me. I am an emotional guy - sometimes too emotional. I try (try being the key word) not to joke when it could be hurtful. I don't appreciate humour that makes fun of someone's emotional instability. I had enough of that already in Middle School. When it comes to comments - especially hurtful ones, even if they're only joking - I can't ignore them. I can't just say "Oh, it's just someone on the internet, so what they say has no value to me," because it's still someone communicating to another person.

Anyway, I'm not going to leave HF because really, that proves nothing. Instead, I'm just going to very politely ask that we drop this entirely, to please not make jokes about it, and to move on.

On the one hand, I like Nick and dislike Juski.

On the other hand, Juski was doing the kind of crap I always give Canadians and British friends (and they do it in kind about my being from U.S.) and Nick overreacted (though Juski needs to be told to fuck now and then like the rest of us need to get a drink some days; I keep meaning to do it and I forget, so I appreciate Nick remembering, for Juski's sake, even if it had to come from a bad situation).

Juski wasn't saying "you should be happy living in America"; I don't think he even knew the situation. It was more "if you were American, you wouldn't have to worry about being Canadian", which is obviously ridiculous.

Yeah, I fully admit that I went way, way, way over the line. If I was in better spirits, I would've laughed right along with it. Also, one of the reasons I doubt I could leave here is the amount of people that have PM'd me with cyber-hugs. :)

Aw, that was going to form 80% of my humor related content on this forum until the next big thing. I'm looking for something new, because THERAPY is just old now.

Oh well...
