Sometimes I make PANCAKES using EGGNOG instead of milk!

OK, reading your responses to that... spoilered animation have made my night. I literally started laughing so hard I have hiccups.

Huh. I just learned unobtanium is an actual 'thing' that existed before Avatar.

Also, why am I on wikipedia instead of painting?

My therapist had some interesting things to say today about passive-aggressive exchanges and me being more assertive, but deep down, I think we both know she was really talking about my penis.

It's fun explaining that to people who make fun of Avaar for "making up that fake sounding metal."

There are way more interesting things one could point out to make fun of Pocahontas In Space.

I leaned that from rewatching The Core. I was like "Did I hear that right? Their ship is made of unobtanium?"

Then there are I was, on wikipedia, learning about this wishful though experiment turned mcguffin.

NO.

Bad LittleSin. The Core is what we geophysicists think about when we have nightmares. Scratch that. Any movie with a geophysicist for a protagonist or supporting character seems to turn out bad. Except X-Men First Class (Havoc has a degree in geophysics). This includes The Core, Dante's Peak, Volcano, Armageddon, and Tremors. Actually Tremors wasn't so bad.

Also what the hell Kubo? I just defended bleach in another thread, but now we have Nazi ghosts? Bleach has been Godwin'd.

If you have a pair of polarized sunglasses, look at your monitor through them. From certain angles, the monitor should appear completely black; that's because the light coming out from the monitor is polarized in one plane, and your sunglasses are blocking that light. Look at it from another angle, and you see the image fine (well, minus the tint).

This is a similar concept; an lcd has two sheets of polarizing film, one of which is right before the glass of the monitor. That second sheet is necessary to block out certain wavelengths so you can see the image properly. Without it, all light gets through and you get the blank white screen.

That fight scene was the greatest fight scene in the history of entertainment until South Park turned it into Cripple Fight.

Interestingly this doesn't work with all LCD screens, but I'm not sure why. I think it might be that some screens use linear polarization, while others use circular, but don't know for certain. What I do know is that I tried to show this trick to my sister, and it didn't work with her Zune, while it worked just fine on my Insignia media player.

I've wanted to try that for a long time, but I've never been able to convince myself to potentially ruin a perfectly good LCD monitor.

I hate hearing flip flops in the bank. It's always by customers but I'm like "Madame... you really have no business wearing those into this bank. Perhaps you'd feel more comfortable banking with the institute that has their branches in the local Wal-Mart?"

Man I don't mean to sound "uppity" but this isn't the welfare office....
