I'm on the organ donor's list (but only if I get killed) please don't kill me.

I am glad treatment is getting better, but look at the bright side, you should be glad that you DID mess around with those high blood pressure machine and discover this early enough to still be treatable.

Curiosity, is it both? or just one? (I am not familiar on the disorder)

Ugh. Just got home after four days in the hospital. Got a badass flu, got severely dehydrated, and it put my kidneys in trouble to the point that dialysis and transplant seemed inevitable. Went into the hospital the day after Christmas. Recovered, got back to my baseline numbers, still feel like shit and fighting a minor infection in my face, but doing much better right now. But man, I just out and out lost most of a week from this.

It sucked pretty hard. They actually ran a fairly rare test on my salivary gland - threading a camera up the duct - to check for blockages before ruling that an infection.

So...the latest test results came in - and it's looking like I'm heading towards remission. Surprising, particularly after my hospital stint. But really, really welcome news. Little to no blood or protein in the urine - it's suggesting that things are going well, and I might be able to start getting off the immuno-suppresants fairly soon. Fingers crossed.

So are they putting you on some kind of diet for the rest of your life, or is it managed with pills?

Little of both. Mostly for high blood pressure. Keeping that down protects the kidneys. I've got another pill for the kidneys themselves.

Eh - had some infusions done this week - always knocks me on my ass pretty hard. No energy to draw, so I'm way off draw a day, and I'm not going to make it this Friday for Pixel's update. I had a huge buffer, but these health setbacks have absolutely depleted it. :(

Some good news - the latest tests came back (half of them, at least) and my numbers were the best they've been since I started treatment - getting very close to normal, healthy readings. Waiting on the blood tests, but things might be looking kinda...good.
