Maybe someday I will own a rat. Do you think they can defend themselves from a cat?
Sorry to be dragging this up after several days, but I didn't catch it until now.

Rats are social animals, so you'd need to own at least two or they get depressed and start hurting themselves.

Have to disagree with quotemander. I had a single rat, who was quite happy. When I wasn't home she was in her cage with a few toys, When I was home, she was either running around my computer desk, running over my girlfriend or running around the house in her hamsterball. My cat wasn't allowed near her during our snuggle times, but when she was in the ball we let them kinda go free. Kitty would stalk the ball, but our dogs would normally go and sniff at her causing her to run away before she could do anything. Old dog wasn;t even interested in hamster ball, puppy was, but he just wanted to sniff. He must sniff everything though. Bare in mind this was when I was a teenager, so I had alot of free time to let her be social with me and my friends. Growing up a bit with less free time I'm not sure it would work out as well. But if you didnt want to get 2, 1 could work if you spend time with them.

Some individual rats are okay, but odds are more in the realm of a rat needing a companion. If you have tons of free time, it can alleviate that issue in some rats, but not all. I know one of our boys would be fine by himself if we gave him lots of time out with us, but the other two are way too social to be without their brothers. That said, we just don't have time or a rat-proof space to let them be out all the time with us.

I went with the university's Outdoor Adventure group this weekend to TreeGo! It's ziplining, but combined with a huge tree-to-tree obstacle course. It's sometimes as high as 60-65 ft up. And I have something of a fear of heights.

So yeah...to say that I was terrified at points? Under flipping statement.

This one, I was still relatively low to the ground. At least in comparison to later.

GERONIMO!

The most terrified I think I've ever been:

(Note, this wasn't a rope ladder. This was a walkway.)

Way to face that fear. My old man joined the 82nd to get over his fear of heights. Accidentally stabbed himself with a bayonet in Grenada, trying to open a coconut with it.

Ouch, Gas.

But yeah, it was a LOT of fun, aside from that one part. Seriously, everything else was a total blast. Most especially the ziplining. It was just those planked walkways that I hated for some reason. I think it was the amount of space between some of the planks.

Some people were travelling across parts of the course without holding onto the safety line. Crazy bastards.

Funny thing is, though, even with no hands it was totally safe. We had cables on our harness that were on the safety line at all times. They taught us how to switch from line to line, having one hook faced one way, the other facing the other way. So if either clasp opened, the other would still be there.

Shego that dress looks great on you, or you in it, how well did it work? Kagsin the red lipstick suits you quite well and lovely blurry or not! Nick you've made me jealous I want to do some ziplining and climbing! It is too much fun! The knee is nearly there so I'm hoping that I can make my dream canopy tour in Costa Rica somewhere in the next couple of years.

Me and my little brother at the Giants game this past weekend for my 30th birthday. I went through most of that 15 year Jameson in about 25 minutes. Bastard friends at the tailgate wouldn't let me put the thing down Fun times, and a great game!

And...me sitting down in NYC, resting before heading in to NYC Comic con!

And random...me drunk after a concert, playing with my friend's dog earlier this summer:

We've been fostering a bunch of feral and semi-feral kittens for the rescue we adopted our cat from; here's a photo of socializing one of the more recent ones:

SHAVE ALL THE THINGS!!

( or,even better, don't, as the symbolsm of this gesture doesn't need the complete mimicking of hair loss due to chemotherapy)

I tease so many people that shave their head normally... I walk up and say, "Thanks for showing solidarity with me in my time of chemo."

Or just asking my best friend if he is going to shave his head to show solidarity... His flat top is perfect. So good in fact that when the lights came up after Roger Waters The Wall Live, the guy next to my friend said, "The only thing cooler that that concert is your fucking hair." So he's really attached to that look. He's worn it that way for 22 years. Not to mention that he's gotten quite vain about it too. So I know that I can pester him mercilessly about shaving with the knowledge that he will never shave.

Personally, i jsut like shaving my head. I have for years. And before that, I usually jsut used clippers down to zero anyways. Last time I had hair was for a short while like a decade ago.

You have the magnificent beard to go with it; I have pubescent stubble after 2 months.

Ah. Well, to be fair, even before I started the regular beard thing a few years ago, I still shaved my head. Then again, that could also be becasue I have been greying since about age 13, heh (family trait).

I actually wonder how it would look now if I let it grow out. Furthest I let it get would be about the equivalent of a 3 on clippers before I cant stand the site of hair on my head and shave it off. But it does look pretty grey, from what I ahve seen. Thank goodness the beard doesnt go grey yet (knock on wood)

I am having a hard time letting my hair grow back. One, it is still very uneven. Major bald spots that were not there before. And Two, I only had a couple of gray hairs at my temples now it looks like at least half of what's growing back in is now white.

Hahahahahahahhaa, nice one! But no.

Actually, the last time I was beardless, was for Halloween 3 years ago, when I happened across a wheelchair at the salvation army for 20 bucks. And thus, Charles Xavier was what I went as that year! Getting pushed in a wheelchair is the easiest way to get to a bar in a crowd, let me tell you! And great conversation opener with the ladies!

Also, thinking cosplay for pax easyt next year, since the game will be coming out right at the same time..Max Payne from the new max payne 3! Toss the glasses, wear my wife beater, fake scar, and guns/holsters. Easiest costume ever!

I'll be going as Charlie Brown this year. I just hope I can successfully recreate a zig-zag shirt. Or just get a white T and pants and go as Mr Clean.
