Game Series You Want More Of

Best game ever made deserves a real sequel. Not the shit Accolade made with the IP after they ousted Toys for Bob.
From what I read, SC2 being so awesome was actually kind of an accident. There was a sort of "readme" file in my copy that described how when the game was 80% done, the developers went MIA and it took 6 months to track them down... and by the time the private investigator DID, they had basically re-written the whole game. So the manual that shipped with the game was barely even relevant.

I'd like to see more of the old MicroProse catalog come back.

I found my old disks to Sword of the Samurai, F-15 Strike Eagle II, F-19, Pirates (I know this has been remade a few times even once recently.)

I'd love to see another open ended game of the depth that MP put out, that has that same level of replay. I would also like to see air-combat sims that are not just fly through this invisible tunnel and twitch at the right second or you will not survive the mission.

Gimme more Dungeon Keeper, The World Ends with You, Mega Man, (original - and NOT some download) just off the top of my head.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind me some more Total Annihilation - Arm vs. Core!

Two words: Ogre Battle.
They released a remake of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together on the PSP this year. It's pretty awesome.

Mega Man, (original - and NOT some download)
What's wrong with Megaman 9 and 10? They are great games, true to the original NES series in most every detail. I'd even argue that 9 and 10 lead directly into the X series, as 9 has the first mass Maverick uprising (Protoman is technically the first Maverick, but this was the first after him) and 10 show Wily experimenting with computer viruses (something Zero spread prior to X-1, which caused ALL the problems in the X Series).

I'm pretty sure it's even possible to get 9 and 10 on reproduction carts if you really want a physical copy.

X-com, the strategy kind
X-wing/Tie-fighter
Man I knew someone would beat me to it. The Ace Combat series, too. Pretty much any good fighter/bomber sim. They've gotten pretty sparse.

Baldur's Gate: Did you not like the Neverwinter Nights games? I'd almost call Mask of the Betrayer the successor to Planescape: Torment.
Yes, this, please. NWN was okay, but it wasn't up to the writing standards of BG or BG2 or IWD, and definitely not up to Planescape: Torment. One of my biggest beefs with NWN2 was that it looked and played a bit dated for the time it was released. Plus I wanted to hit Bevin with a fish.

Shadowgate got a crappy N64 game. Deja Vu was originally a PC game, but the GBA version actually has the sequel to it on it.
Eh, yeah. But there hasn't been anything really mainstream released in a long time, you know? I think that style of gameplay would translate really well on the iPod, iPad, iWhatsit market.

Ace Combat is mainly on the PSP right now, though a new one is coming out on the 360 soon.

Oh fuck yeah, this. If the DS only had that game to play, it still would have been completely worth it. I loved it.
Considering Nomura is going to be involved with KH3 (the next big project after FF13-2) and is currently doing stuff with Versus, it's going to be a long way off. He did say he's totally up for it though.

That's what I meant. A physical copy.

Anyone say Battletoads yet? That was my first "throw the controller" game. Not even on the speeder stages - those weren't too bad. It was those damn snakes - EVERY TIME. But man, it was fun.

No, no Battletoads. I won't want to hear all the whining over it's difficulty.

(and that's just before the game even comes out. "it'll be too easy", "it'll be too hard", "damn these bears make tasty porridge")
