Random Video Game Crap

All of his criticisms are true and I felt them as well.

I've still loved doing cat things and being a little shithead. I think, for me, while it has it's failings it does something VERY well that a lot of games struggle with. It lets you play, not play it, but PLAY. That's not always the aim of a game anymore, and that's fine, but I love these little games that just put out a silly concept and run with it.

Who has Dark Souls opinions?

I played the first one ages ago on the PS3 (I can't remember if I finished it), and was thinking of jumping into DS3 on my PS4. But then I thought maybe I should I buy the remaster of 1 and play 2 before I get into 3. Anyone have opinions/advice?

They're all excellent extremely different games. I've just been playing through them.

3 feels like a direct sequel to 1 and basically ignores 2. 2 is kind of a mess that I went from loving to hating to liking finally. They're all worth playing.

If you like Dark Souls, I might also recommend The Surge 1 and 2? It's basically Dark Souls but in a Sci-Fi near future. The combat is pretty similar, though there is a strong emphasis on weakening opponents armor and weapons to both kill them faster and to acquire said weapons and armor.

That said, if you haven't tried it yet, Elden Ring requires no previous Dark Souls experience and is much more approachable than any other title in the genre.

Somebody modded Mai Shiranui into Sifu and now suddenly I'm interested in a game I had no interest in before.

I play Sifu, it's a great game with a really unique death system where every time you die, you get older. The idea is you want to try and complete a run before you get too old.

So if this mod doesn't introduce a sag mechanic...

This just means the game needs a mod that adds Michelle Yeoh.

The next co-op game of the moment seems to be Core Keeper, which is described as a top-down combination of Terarria, Stardew Valley, and Valheim. Just came out in Early Access for $13.

Just bought this last night and started playing it. I have to say so far I'm loving it. They have some interesting mechanics that I really enjoy and some QoL things that are like, "Yeah, well, it's obvious games like this should have it!"

Example: You can have one item in your hand. But if you hold down the shift key (and you have a torch) it puts the torch in your hand so you can see. Right clicking while doing that sets a torch down at that location. Let go of the shift and your original item is back in your hand. I mean, they COULD have made it so you could have a torch in your off hand, but there are off hand items so this is a great way of doing it. I always use my slingshot since it does a lot of damage to bad guys. I run around with the torch (and you can mine through dirt walls, etc. with the torch) and then start firing bullets at the bad guys once I get close enough.

Haven't done the co-op yet but that will be next. For $12 it was a hell of a deal.

I know, I played it on PS4! Then I scoffed at the price of the Miles Morales expansion.

I would have instantly grabbed it on PC if it came with it.

It's dumb because when I bought it for PS5, they came bundled together. No idea why they wouldnt do the same for the PC version

There is no reason to, well consumer friendly reason, but they treat Miles as a separate game entirely.
