[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

I tried doing the low-level toon thing, but you have to defeat Greed at exactly level 11 for best results, which is difficult to do when you have the GoE equipped. I have a set of Illusory Boots and a Burning Axe of Sankis which are both reduced to level 1 via GoE sacrifices, but I keep finishing Greed at either level 10 or 12. Grr.

Nah, it really doesn't matter if you're lower level. I mean, if you just want them for the achievement, not for actual use.
At level 5 to 11, T1, she'll drop two guaranteed legendaries. As long as you're under level 11, the only option besides an Ethereal is the Legendary crown. I mean, yes, I guess 11 might give a slightly better return than level 6 (though...What? You're not getting a third legendary from her at those levels) but you can just do it at 5 or 6. One dead skeleton will get you to the right level, then just run past everything.

I ran six (which was all the rings I had at the time) Vault runs at T6 difficulty with my Crusader < 12 each time. I got ZERO ethereals. I have not gotten any more Puzzle Rings since, not from upgrades nor Kadala.

RNJFC.

Well at least I completed Guardian just before dinner tonight, so at least that’s out of the way.

Ok, I've discovered a farming method that works surprisingly well, and have FINALLY found my missing Barb item, as well as filled in the remaining two Crusader items. Plus there was that one Monk item I got (why?).
Onward to complete the remaining five classes!

I picked up the Prime Evil pack when D2 Remastered dropped, which gives you all the D3 stuff as well.

It’s my first time with the game, and it’s very different from D2 - quite a bit easier, actually. I’m playing as a Necro, and I’m just tearing through the game. Corpse Explosion is ridiculous. I already found two Ethereals (same one) and it’s basically removed the little challenge there already was. I did see that the Ethereals for this season will disappear at season’s end, which just sucks...but it will bring back the challenge.

Basically D3 is incredibly easy on normal and you won't really see any sort of challenge until you are max level and moving into torment difficulties. I'd say crank up the difficulty to whatever the highest it will let you on your first time through the campaign if you want to have to mildly pay attention

Don't know what level you're at, but yeah, the lower levels and normal difficulties are ridiculous, especially now with Ethereals. D2 is geared toward playing the game through; D3 is geared purely towards the end game, Torment X and up.

Yeah, we hosted a birthday hang and it got dropped. I wasn’t told until later. I tried to turn it on and nothing happened.

Not cool, rude teenager, not cool.

PSA, maybe I'm just an idiot and everyone knows this but...Ethereals WILL NOT unlock for the achievement if you just find and identify them. You have to EQUIP them as well to register properly.
I was 100% sure I'd done the Demon Hunter ones before my vacation, yet they weren't unlocked...Now I foudn that i still had Khalim's Will in my inventory, and yet it wasn't marked as found. Creating a new crusader, leveling it up enough, equipping it, and it's registered correctly. So, don't be like me and just make some quick runs ,then delete the character, because you'll just have to do it all over again.
Having said that, now at 12 registered Ethereals, and I'd have had 15 if it wasn't for my own stupidity.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
...at this point I may as well just start over again BUT at least now I know how to farm them.

Well, my WD got recognition for Ghostflame before even IDing it. So...I dunno. It's at least a bit buggy. Check which ones you have under the Achievements page, I'd say.

I didn’t know we could do this. I know what I’m gonna do the instant I get home today.

It wasn't there at first. It's still in a bit of a weird place - NOT under seaosnal achievements, but under the general achievements, feats of strength, Ethereal Recollection.

So apparently 7 more to go: All 3 Demon Hunter bows, 2 of the Monk caestūs, and 2 of the Wiz wigglers. Looks like I've gotten credit for everything I've at least identified.

So, PTR with season 25 theme and some new reworks. What are your thoughts?
The theme seems...Well, very Ethereal-like, obviously. The exact power and how interesting it is will depend on how nuts they go with the powers. If the powers are similar in scope to the Ethereal items, this could really change things up.

As for the reworks, I've barely ever played a DH so I can't comment on those.
The Barb change is a pretty straightforward one: HotA will be a more viable play style, especially with the IK set.
Wizard, nerfing Firebirds is always good :p
The Necro buff... Well, too little too late. And I personally still think a pet build should have its damage come from, I dunno, its pets. More than tripling the damage of a nuke won't make the build play better, it'll just make it viable a few GRs higher.
Onto the one that I will care about most, and others in this thread too I think...the WD rework.

First, Shukrani's lasting until you attack *three times* or come close to Elites really makes it incredibly strong. Increasing damage done while in the Spirit Realm is only icing on the cake. A speed build with the Chicken set and this in the Cube would be ridiculously fast.
Second, Lakumba's Ornament is changed from 10% DR per Soul Harvest stack, to 60% base and 2% extra for each stack over 3. Seems like a good change to me. It also makes the Sacred Harvester a bit less obviously-always-BIS for builds that don't particularly use SH for anything but armor.
Third, Spider Queen's Grasp and Brood of Araneae (weapon nobody used and a new item, I guess?), both to further improve the damage done by Corpse Spiders. Totally useless, except in combination with the reworked Arachyr. The Brood has a 1%-increase-per-bite sort of thing going on, Bane of the Stricken-light.
Lastly, then, the Arachyr rework. No change to the 6-pc bonus (straightforward increased damage to "creature skills"). 2-pc is a bit weird - Corpse Spiders now spawn "with health" and attack faster. Does this mean the spiders will count as pets? Does it mean they'll tank a bit but otherwise they're still useless? We'll find out! If they DO count as pets, that opens up a whole different play style and a whole bunch of modifiers (Jeram's, T&T, Enforcer,...). If not, I doubt even adding thosde two items up there will boost CS damage enough to make it worthwhile. 4-pc rework: no more toad, instead you get the Spider Queen (from the previous 2-pc bonus), but now its webs will grant you 75% damage reduction. High DR, but...you're forced to stay in the webs. This seems to indicate it'll be a slow, plodding gameplay, as you're always lagging behind your spider. Or players will (ab)use speed to make the Spider teleport to player location? I dunno. The Brood thing mentioned higher may turn this into a RG killer....But with a low-damage skill like CS that has to ramp up. I dunno. I'm mixed on it.

I like the changes to the other items allowing more variety and futer improving the WD for speed. I like that the rework aims at changing up playstyles while still being somewhat balanced. But i'm very sceptical as to how fun "stay in your lane" gameplay will turn out to be.

Aaaand...done.
When the last one dropped, I didn't even have to identify it for the achievement to complete. All I had to do was pick it up and have it go into my inventory. Ok, now I can go play something else until next season.

Oh hey, I assumed it had probably ended already.
I am not looking forward to cleaning out my chars. I just hit the last ethereal drop and bailed, so everything is everywhere on everybody.

I should start finishing up. But somehow the last 3 days I've had time to play, I got exactly zero puzzle rings despite investing several thousand blood shards on my level 31 monk:(

Crap crap crap. I thought the season ended TOMORROW at 5PM, but it's ending in TWENTY MINUTES. And I still have 2 Ethereals to find -one monk, one DH. I'm just barely not going to make it becauseI thought I could get those tomorrow dammit.

New season starting this evening. Won't be playing today, probably, but hey.

I'm in doubt, though. I want to try the new Arachyr set, hurray for throwing spiders at everything, but...The starter set for WD is Jade, which was good and fun once upon a time but it's a bit long in the tooth, and WD has by now what's probably the worst season start options of all classes. And it doesn't look like the Arachyr build will be especialyl fast or strong, anyway.

The big question I have is...is there anything I need to chase this season? I'm on a 2-month deadline and have to carefully ration my time until then, so I don't want to sink 200hrs into this game only to find out everything cool was "disappears at end of season."

The portrait frame is pretty neat, I think, and it's not one I remember seeing before (though I missed a few seasons between 4 and 10 or so). The pet is nothing new, and I think that's all there is to gain.

I got D3 bundled with the D2 remaster, is there any controller support for the pc version?

Edit: Fuck it, D2 is perfect with a controller. D3 can wait

I haven't played much yet this season, but man...My WD is now P280ish, and I'm halfway through Champion, and still struggling with T13. My Barb last season had finished the journey around P260 or something. The difference in power and ease of leveling is ridiculous.
And I just now checked the conquests for this season.....The Thrill (GR45 setfree) and Divinity (GR75 solo) are practically free, that's nice. The other three are...nigh impossible solo, or incredible time sinks. Bah!

The addiction returned swiftly…

Either I forgot a lot or they changed the game quite a bit. I have my bloody zombie teddy bear and am trying to unlock primals.
