[News] The USA Police State will never satisfy its lust for beating, gassing, and imprisoning minorities

...that’s odd. When I click the link, it says at the bottom “You must register or log in to reply here.”
The forum loses your login occasionally. Seems to happen to me most often if I accidentally click on the big "Half:Leyla:rums" logo instead of one of the menu headings.

Boy, wanna be mad, listen to the last two Behind the Bastards. It's about Excited Delirium. The 'malady' that police use to blame deaths from TAZERs. I'm embarrassed that I bought into this shit when I first had it drilled into me in Depot (the RCMP training campus) and did for a long time.

Not sure if Police did this to a minority, but:

Arkansas woman sues trooper for flipping her SUV during stop

"In a statement provided last month to television station KARK, Col. Bill Bryant said over the last five years, troopers have seen a 52% increase in the number of drivers who ignore traffic stops troopers initiate. "

Wow, I wonder why people are afraid to be pulled over by murderers, it just boggles the mind. Who wouldn't want to be stopped in the dark to play a lethal game of Simon Says with a violent authority who is willing to kill anyone who doesn't comply fast enough to soothe their fragile ego? It's a puzzle for the ages.

You have to get all the way to the bottom of the article before they mention she also happened to be pregnant at the time.
Reddit had this in their teeth quite a few times over the last week: "COP CAUSES PREGNANT WOMAN TO CRASH" and such.

Wish I had a link, but I saw a video recently from a woman's home security system of two cops doing a Wellness Check. They showed up and after she didn't answer, they manually moved all her security cameras around so they couldn't be seen and started to try breaking into the house. The woman was already spooked by them and thought they were trying to break in to kill her. She called 911 and the dispatcher messaged the cops and was able to get them to leave, but the moving the cameras and such was pretty scary. Why was she so paranoid? She had just divorced her ex-husband, who was a good friend to many local police officers, and it was supposedly the ex-husband that called in the Wellness Check.

You would think they would realize doing shit like that is shady as fuck.

And the Arkansas drivers handbook says to turn on your flashers to signal to the officer that you're looking for a safe place to pull over

She should have, and hoped she got lucky with somebody not paying attention. Fucking Hell, the dashcam video even shows that only half the damn cruiser fit in the walled in shoulder on that stretch of highway.

I was pulled over a few years ago « because my lights weren’t on at dusk » and the cop called me every name in the book because I waited slightly to pull over where it would be safe for him to stand next to my vehicle on the highway.

For what it’s worth, my lights came on while
He was screaming at me. The dealer set them to automatic. I have always wondered the real reason he pulled me over.

*Always a guess* Along the lines of "Respect my Authority"

They've been on a statewide manhunt for this guy all week.
Even used their oh-so-gravitas BLUE ALERT system to literally text everyone in the state to be on the lookout for him because he shot a cop in the leg.
Boy oh boy do I feel safer knowing that police are diligent and competent enough to be granted the leeway to murder civilians at will.

YOU MAY BADMOUTH COPS NOW, BUT YOU'LL BE SINGING A DIFFERENT TUNE WHEN YOU GET ROBBED AND THE POLICE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN come to your house and fill out paperwork and laugh at you when you ask what the chances are of your things being returned to you...

I didn’t get a text. I don’t feel left out though.

Blue alert cancelled after suspect found getting high fives from random citizens.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the guy is definitely a criminal, with a burglary and robbery rap sheet of multiple counts. But the noise made over this made him sound like a cop-killer, when if you actually read the details, he fired randomly in the police's direction as he ran from a traffic stop, and it's actually kind of amazing that he managed to hit one of them at all, and the policeman was treated and released.

So, yeah, he definitely needs to be behind bars because he's a thief, and a reckless, dangerous one a that with no regard for human lives.

But the response taken by authorities made this guy sound like Agent 47, and all it took to trigger that response was a cop getting a boo boo.

I actually disagree with you on this one, Gas. Here's a guy who is not only bad news but he's perfectly fine with firing a weapon blindly at police. He didn't care who he hurt. I didn't get the "kill all civilians" vibe you did, I got a "this guy is a lunatic and very dangerous so we need every hand on deck to find him".

The guy is a danger to everyone, and needs to be arrested, as I said.

But the Blue Alert system was put in place for premeditated cop killers - and even then it smells a little bit like cop/military-worship. There are other systems already in place to have widespread manhunts, and the rapid proliferation of "alerts" has people (like me) ignoring them. There's blue alert and amber alert and silver alert and camo alert and clear alert. And every university also has their own alerts - A&M has "Maroon Alert" and SHSU has "KATSAFE Alert." And I get them all. And they're all well-meaning, but when everything's an alert, nothing is.

And what this feels like more than anything was a gotcha technicality. "OH OH HE TECHNICALLY SHOT A COP SO NOW WE GET TO BRING THE FULL FORCE OF EVERYTHING AGAINST HIM SAME AS IF HE WAS CHARLES WHITMAN! Finally, I've got new swat gear I've been ACHING to try!"

And despite all that... it failed miserably.

To be fair, they originally tried to make the alert sound whenever the police were abusing their power and harming civilians, but it screeched nonstop for 48 hours before exploding.
