Random Video Game Crap

I don't care whether someone wants to watch Starcraft or Formula 1 racing or snooker, who am I to judge, but what exactly is the goal in a minecraft v championship? I mean this honestly, I don't know, this is the first I've heard of it. Are there several disciplines? Is it recreate this historic building as good and fast as possible? Finish the storyline as fast as possible?

"In the MC Championship, ten teams of four go head to head in a variety of mini-games that test the core Minecraft skills: parkour, survival, combat, teamwork and more. After eight games, the two teams with the most coins will go up against one another in one final matchup to decide the ultimate champion."

Looks to be a competition in a pretty specific permutation of Minecraft, with the end result being something like Fall Guys or Mario Party or something?

Their site.

My daughter has gathered up every device in the house that can play Twitch so that she can watch as many teams as possible at once during the first game of the new Minecraft Championship season. Please God have mercy on my soul.
A certain husband of mine sometimes needs the same sports game on more than on tv.

I do not envy you today. Yikes!

Ok Steam, WTF? Evidently Maneater and FPS games are too adult for me to see in my daily queue, but adult games with graphically illustrated boobs and naked dudes are cool. In what world does that logic work?

ME3 is the point where I lost a lot of my exuberance for video games. Still my most disappointing gaming purchase, buying into the hype and preordering it. Barely made it past the first opening sequence before finding out about the ending and that nothing in the first two games mattered. Have never preordered anything since, and now I'm way more pessimistic about any game's hype.

It thinks you're European.

America: Death and dismemberment is fine. Wanton violence and cruelty is blase. But if there's ONE NIPPLE exposed to the air, you are BANNED.
Europe: The bare human body is mundane. Sex is something pretty much everyone experiences in real life, so it's not a big deal to show. But the barest WHIFF of gun violence and DAS IST VERBOTEN UND NICHT AUSGESEICHNET

For me it was the one two punch of Dragon Age 2 followed by Mass Effect 3. At least one good thing came out of EA consuming Bioware, it taught us video game companies are awful

One of us likes (practice for the creation of) Life. One of us likes (the instruments of) Death.
:p

You know I'll say this about ME3--I still thought it was a damn good game. I'll admit I didn't like ultimately how I had to choose my ending, but games like Deus Ex (the original) did something similar and I still consider it one of the greatest games of all time.

It's about the expectation vs. reality in this situation.

Yeah, what pissed people off was, there was 2.9 games full of:

Your choices matter!
Your choices matter!
Your choices matter!
Your choices matter!
Your choices matter!

And then at the last second:
None of your choices actually mattered. Pick what color filter the ending gets.

Thanks to expose's following the clusterfuck that was Anthem, we now know that this was right in the middle of "Bioware magic" time. Basically they bit off more than they could chew, filled two entire games full of choices, and then couldn't figure out how to resolve it as the end. The ending was eventually rushed and crunched.

I think 2 was fine, but literally none of your choices mattered in 3. Any choice you made in 1 and 2 effectively got retconned in one way or another. If they wanted to slack on the ending, that's one thing, but not having red/green/blue tied directly to your alignment was a ridiculously asinine decision. I guess if I want my alignment choices to matter, I'll stick to Shin Megami Tensei. :D

Huh, I kinda have fallen off the "react channel" fan wagon of late, but this one has some old school cred on it.

WTF is Genshin Impact tho #GenXisTheNewBoomer

I stopped watching those channels after the copyright fiasco a couple years back. I assume they're doing just as well as ever.

Best I can tell is that someone cross-bred Zelda: Breath of the Wild with a F2P MMO and Genshin Impact was the result.
There's really no MMO to it. It's BotW with an incredibly exploitative waifu-based Gacha system strapped to it. People spent thousands of dollars in its first month trying to pull and max the characters they wanted, and I'm pretty sure some of them still didn't manage it.

I disagree the last five minutes were the only bad part. Gameplay aside, story wise it went off the trails in 2.
Fucking this. It's the game with Kai Leng and overhearing people on the phone in the citadel being how you deal with sidequests and the stupid preparation number that required multiplayer to fill and a major, major, major character being carved off for the more expensive version of the game.

So I was thinking about wrestling, since that's basically all I watch for TV now (AEDUB). Most wrestling video games come at it like it's a real sport, fighting and doing damage to your opponent so you can pin them in what is generally the least fun you can have playing a video game (suck a dick wrestling games) or they're incredibly dry management simulators like EWR.

I want a wrestling game that focuses on real life pro-wrestling. A game where your rhythm and ability to cooperate with your opponent is how you do well. If you fall out of rhythm or whatever, you botch which can lead to injuries or whatever. You can add more complex moves to your wrestler as you do better and progress. There could be a different rhythm game for promos. You could do a whole whopper of management things backstage to make it customizable n such, like having to negotiate your contract with bosses, designing merch, etc. I dunno, I feel like this might be an under-served niche. I have some dumb ideas I don't want to type out because it's hard to express them fully, but it involves the matches being called by whoever is winning, you decide the next sequence of moves if your score is higher.

And fuck it, since it would end being anyway, make it pixel-art.

I played the AEW management game beta too and fuck it's boring mobile trash. I'm sure if those games are your bag, it may be fun, but not me.
