OK, so we're looking for wedding cake topper miniatures. I'm a bald white guy with a goatee. That's....That's a fairly common look these days, no? Well, apparently wedding cake topper designers don't know this, because outside of completely custom made things, this doesn't appear to exist.
Anyone whose google fu is better than mine?
> guy: white, bald, goatee
> girl: white, long brown hair
> has to get to Belgium within the next two weeks
Maybe something other than a bride and groom? Our wedding cake topper was the Chinese character "double happiness", which I made myself, and two Westies, because at the time we had our dog, Tofu.

I've seen a lot of cute things on Etsy, but I can't speak to how fast they could get to Belgium.

Also Etsy's site is fucked right now, but here's an example I found from a Canadian shop.

Man, being on Twitter when a celebrity is dying/dead is like watching TMZ in the old days - is he dead, is he alive, is it a hoax, where's the news? Nothing huh? Wait, what? Ahhh... RIP Regis.

Someone asked me how she should write a thank-you message in English to someone who helped her out with something.

I said, "It depends on who you're writing to. If it's someone you're on a more formal basis with, you can write something like, 'I really appreciate your help over the past few days, and I'd like to thank you by treating you to dinner.' If it's someone you're more informal with, you can go for, 'Thanks man, can I take you to dinner for this?' And if it's someone you're in a romantic relationship with, try, 'Thanks honey, tonight I'm going to eat..."

And she yelled, "THANK YOU I GOT IT STOP THERE NOW PLEASE!"

I sure did!

In completely random news, in the spirit of this thread, Pud and his bear have gotten back together. Pud left for a while and tried younger, softer bears, but is back with his old faithful tonight. I will have to hide the replacement I bought myself.

I’ve been thinking about selling 99% of the things i physically own. And just being ready to pop out somewhere at any moment. Is that too extreme? i’m increasingly thinking it’s not that dumb an idea

I did that when leaving the Philippines. Only had my bagpack with clothes and wad of Dollar bills in my shoes. And no, I did not move illegaly to Germany, I am half german and a citizen, but that was the fastest way to go.

If it's a flight reaction thing, it's extreme. If it's a deliberate lifestyle choice, go right ahead.
I know people who pretty much abandoned everything and everyone and moved to Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, South Africa,.. and built a new life there. Some more successful than others. Some are still roaming the world, having adventures, others are now settled down and have a family and everything just on the other side of the world.
I'll even say that I'm sometimes jealous and inclined to join them - especially NZ really appeals to me, I loved the atmosphere and the people there.
But it's hard, and I personally probably couldn't do it, or at least not that way - I'm too attached to too many physical comforts and things I've gathered through my life, the mmeories attached to those items even if they're technically worthless.

It’s not an emergency type of flight, more of a “yes, i enjoy these things but it will be much easier to pick up and go if i suddenly cant afford to live here or if shit starts exploding” type thing

EDIT: like if my government- TOTALLY HYPOTHETICALLY - decides i cant afford to live where i live in 2 weeks, wouldnt it he better to sell things now then try to afford to move things at that time

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up.

I bought a thermos online that I know she wants.

I immediately get bombarded with Facebook ads for it because Zuck knows all.

I accidentally hit "share on my timeline" on one of the ads, making it visible to everybody I'm Facebook friends with that I am looking at those thermoses, including my girlfriend.

I have deleted the post, but no clue if she saw it in the interim.

Brumate. They're meant for alcoholic beverages. I got one in the shape of a wine glass and one in the shape of a hard seltzer can.

I live within 50km of a nuclear plant and so the government has provided me with potassium iodine pills to thwart thyroid cancer in the event of a radioiodine leak. It's basically Rad-X from Fallout.

I had to sign up for it. If you live within 10km of the plant they give it to you by default, but the outer zones you have to sign up for it.

We had a leak scare a few months back, when a province wide emergency alert was sent out by mistake when they were testing the system. My somewhat doomsday- prepping friend let us know about this program and so we all signed up.

Omg?!?

The kids used to go to a school with arsenic in the water so there were water coolers with imported water. That thought scared me for a long time. I used to have them repeat I will only use the cooler and never drink from the bathroom tap.

Also $&@€£%!! autocorrect. I just sent several totally messed up texts :(

My headache is stunningly bad today so my vision is also off which isn’t helping. I thought a few of them were ok until after.

I really can spell. Just not today.

It also means that my poor PoE chick is dying in a hot dumpster fire of a hot mess.

I love the Facebook Container addon...lets me share my facebook with the few sites I want to share it with, and block facebook tracking everywhere else.
