Former President Trump Thread

Republican controlled Congress gave up that power when they allowed him to just move funds from other departments to his dumb wall. So no, because they are trying to make a very dumb king
I keep forgetting just how much power they have given up to one idiot. Trump might be the worst person in government, but Mitch isn't far behind.

What i mean is, he doesn't even have the levers to do it.
Like Poe says, the laws and articles may say you are correct, but what the branches have colluded to do is another matter entirely.
They allow Trump his indulgences so long as his actions continue to further their interests, and they will continue to do so for as long as they can get away with it.

$1.28 billion border wall contract goes to company with history of fraud and sex crimes
Wikipedia said:
Tommy Fisher [Of Fisher Sand and Gravel] has appeared on local and conservative TV and radio and is a donor to several charities and the Republican Party. Senator Cramer suggested Fisher's Fox News appearances are what attracted Trump to [choosing] the company.

cheeto in a recorded setting just said that "voting is an honour"

Oh, smells like Christmas.
My reply in the reddit thread was that voting is not an honor it is a Right, and that being elected to serve is the honor, and that they need to start treating it that way.

Some people view voting as a privilege and not a right. These people are also very often highly concerned with the letter of the constitution and how unbreakable it is, and if you have noticed a contradiction in those two views then congrats, you are more aware than they are.

If voting were a right and not a privilege, we'd have three year olds voting for president instead of a president who acts like a three year old.

Which is exactly why three year olds are allowed to have guns, own property, serve in public office...

I'll give you a few minutes to reflect on why your particular analogy is so dumb.

The White House "press secretary" in an attempt to show how "supes" cheeto is, held up one of the "many" salary checks he "donates to charity"; revealing his banking information to the internet.....

I honestly think this might be better then just banning him. Banning him turns him into a martyr to his followers. Fact checking all his tweets means every time he spews crap he has to deal with actual facts coming along for the ride on his tweet.

His followers won't care, anyway. For example, now Snopes has a left-wing agenda and can't be trusted.

Didn't you hear, anyone that dislikes Trump has a left-wing agenda. The bird outside pooped on my neighbors Trump sign, so he now believes they are dirty democratic birds.

Jokes aside, I am utterly flabbergasted by the irony of him screaming that his free speech is being stifled, all the while threatening to take action on Twitter carrying out it's free speech rights on their private platform. Not even going into the fact that a company can't violate free speech, since free speech only means you can't be arrested by the government for what you say. What's even more funny is that the Citizen's United ruling gave companies the same rights as citizens, and thus the same first amendment protections, so even if he wanted to squelch them somehow he can't do shit. They can do whatever they want to him on their platform.

Does Trump hate masks, in part, because he's hard of hearing and needs to see lips to better understand what people are saying? He probably refuses to wear hearing aids.

Twitter is now fact checking Trump and oh gods does he hate it.
My mom has been a die-hard trump fan. She loves getting on T_D on reddit and stirring the pot.

I called her today, and was so shocked to hear her describing him as an arrogant, incompetent buffoon. I would have never imagined her having that opinion, no matter what stupid shit he's done. I think him and the repubs are very much underestimating how people are viewing his handling of this crisis. Every day supporters--not the super vocal magatards that get all the news.

I have noticed a change too. Not to that level, but more subtle. Usually when I picked up my kids from my mothers house, my mom and step-dad would be watching Judge Judy, or once that was over, Fox News. My step-dad was fully on the CV is a hoax train when it first appeared, and my mother mostly just followed along with him.

As things dragged out my mother seemed scared to have the kids over, and would always go to the store wearing a mask and carrying hand sanitizer. They stopped really talking about it at all other then to make sure I watched the kids so they didn't bring the virus with them to their house. The last two times I picked up the kids, the TV has been off, something that I have to stress is VERY WEIRD for my mother and step-father. This was a week after my mother argued with me that the numbers were likely inflated, which I countered by saying if we can't trust the official numbers given by Trump, then I can just as easily say they are being under-reported, and if she really wanted to go down that discussion. She gave up instantly.

I know in the end they will likely still vote for him, because I can't see either of them ever voting for Biden, but it's been weird seeing them so deflated these last few weeks.

That post is legitimately the dumbest thing he's ever posted. Of all the stupid, dumbshit stuff he's ever said, that's it. That's the dumbest.

Twitter is stifling the free speech of he, the president of the United States of America.

Holy fucking shit.
