Nintendo Switch Thread

I like that because I can't play Persona 5 because I refuse to buy a $500 machine for one game, but I can still be reminded of the fact that it's there. Just like Persona Q did for Persona 4. :(

I wonder if Atlas will bring the Crimson version (or whatever it will be called) to the Switch.

PS4 was $200 last week, with Spider-man.

I can't play Smash yet because I'm waiting for Julie to get home from a mess of circumstances so I can fix her dinner and help her with stuff. At this rate I'll probably be asleep by the time I can play, so ... tomorrow!

This was my most painful shiny hunt. He’s a turd to catch, he broke the chain many times and I chose to break it a few times for good shinies and I even ended up letting a few shinies of other types walk by because I’m not chaining this guy again.

Nintendo is pissing me off again. You can couch co-op to play online against randos in ranked, but not to use battle arena online to play with friends. Jesus Christ Nintendo, get your shit together.

So there will be four more DLC characters. Any guesses to hazard?

I'm almost certain we're going to get one more Fire Emblem character, but that doesn't feel all that exciting. Maybe another Pokemon, too. These aren't that wild of guesses. I'm kind of stumped. Joker really came out of nowhere to me.

Well, Nintendo has said that Joker is sort of emblematic of the sorts of characters we'll be getting for the DLC. Characters that we would never have expected.

What do you think about the possibility that they might be all third-party characters?

TBH to this day I'm still holding out hope for Professor Layton.
I could see Professor Layton as a solid pick for this DLC.

If we get another Capcom character, I could see Arthur from Ghosts 'n' Goblins or Phoenix Wright potentially making it. That said, if we were to get another SEGA character, I think a real outside pick would be Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza.

I know it'll never happen but:

With Psychonauts 2 on it's way, even Rasputin would be more likely than Manny.

Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure @LittleKagsin would like it if Kratos were in the game.

List of characters who I would love to see in Smash (who will never be in Smash):
Jim Darkmagic
Ghost/Zombie/Demon Pirate LeChuck (Monkey Island)
Wren and Reynold (Costume Quest)
The Nameless One (Planescape Torment)
The Kid (Bastion)
Eddie Riggs (Brutal Legend)
LEGO Batman
Kinzie Kensington (Saints Row)

Also, Leeroy Jenkins should be an assist trophy.

What would you recommend for a Christmas gift for the kids for the Switch?

They’re getting Let’s Go Pikachu and I’d like to get them a second game to share.

Do you want a co-op game, or just a fun game? Super Mario Odyssey is fun, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Mario Party. If your kids play Monster Hunter with you, they might enjoy Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Would they be interested in the Labo stuff? My kids are kind of old for it (being teenagers) but we got the first one and managed to build the piano and fishing game before they lost interest in building the rest.

I just got Breath of the Wild for my Birthday, so they would be welcome to share my copy. Or at least try it out lol.

A fun and/or Co-op game would be great. I’d love something that the two of them could play together on what will be their shared Switch or that may also be ok for them to play with friends as well.

Mario Kart, Mario Party, Smash Bros are games that are fun to play in a group. You can theoretically co-op Mario Odyssey but I always thought it was weird (2nd player can control Cappy somewhat). Snipperclips is a fun 2 player game, but your kids might fight about it (it's co-op). 1, 2 Switch is more a proof of concept party game, but my kids were entertained by it for awhile.
