Trump's most ardent supporters are Catholic for some reason. Well, the white Catholics anyway. American Catholics are weird.
Really? I always thought it was more of the Bible Belt backing him. Catholics would have raised an eyebrow at the "married 3 times" things. Supposedly if you remarry when a previous spouse is alive and the marriage wasn't annulled by the church, you're committing adultery.
...Or these could be Catholics like my mother's family, where despite going to church every Sunday, their rules are followed when it's convenient for them.
Also would be surprising since so much of America's Catholics right now are the same group being targeted by Trump, i.e., Latinos.
My understanding is that for conservative Catholics, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. They hate the policies of the liberal left, so they will ardently support Trump as long as he promises to overturn Roe v. Wade and support discrimination against homosexuals. This is despite the fact that Trump's personal life/views are an abomination to all that Catholics hold dear.
Here in catholic land, nobody cares
I was briefly friends with a dude from a sedevacantist household, and they were pretty hardcore Catholics. There were also 2-3 kids in my dorm that were very devout white Catholics (one wanted to be a minister, the other two eventually married and then got divorced when one of them came out as trans).
They were originally black socks.
You would think after nearly two years people would not be surprised the president is the definition of a hypocrite. There is literally a whole library of him saying one thing one day and then the opposite another day, always shifting on how it suits him.

I think it's less surprise, and more trying to beat people over the head with the fact that Dolt45 is a hypocritical liar until everyone is either forced to admit it's true, or look like the willfully ignorant cretins that they are.
