Shiny Zapdos isn’t that much different looking. My daughter lent me her phone so I could try to get a shiny for both her and our son today while they were camping. It was really weird. Her phone doesn’t show the sparkle animation for shinies. I only knew it was shiny because the colour was just very slightly darker. I’m glad I noticed.

I’m glad that shiny Moltres is obvious :)

I feel like a lot of the legendaries have pretty lackluster shiny versions. The three birds, the three dogs/cats, the regis, Zekrom/Reshiram/Kyurem...

At least the Latis and the weather trio have obvious shinies.

Is anyone else receiving far less gifts from Pokestops? I feel like Niantic pulled another, "Oh, is this a feature in this game you like? Well, we can't have that!"

I received a gift from the husband of a friend of my wife's (ie, not someone I'm very close with, and certainly not someone who lives close to us). The gift came from a pokestop that's just down the street, approximately one minute's walk away from where we live.

Apparently they were in the area within the last few days, and never knew that we lived there.

Bunch of new quests for this month, including ones that give a chance for a shiny Houndour, shiny Snubbull, and, first time ever, Spinda. Good luck tracking them all down, there are 8 forms to collect.

So far, everyone in my area is getting the same Spinda (over a dozen of us from about five different pokestops), variation #8, so either they are regional releases (hopefully rotating), or Niantic is releasing them in waves.

I got exactly one shiny Eevee, cp 94. On two accounts. Huzzah seeing other people with 16 shinies on one account just reminds me RNGesus doesn't particularly like me.

I played for about an hour each day because of real life obligations...2 shinies on one account, 0 on the other :(
I'm seeing a lot of people reporting 10+ shinies, bah humbug!

Not yet, no. Probably this evening, 10pm here is when stuff normally starts.

For those who don't follow the Silph Road or other sources, the full Celebi quest line has been posted. Nothing really difficult, really. For those like me who've been lazy, keep those (shiny) eevees around as you need to evolve an Umbreon and an Espeon. Also some item evolutions, so best to stop throwing those items away, too.
