The republicans just drafted articles of impeachment against Rosenstein.

Looks like they are gearing up to fire Meuller now that the lawyer flipped.

It’s not possible for him to be removed given the current makeup of congress.

It’s a tit for tat war between congress and the doj.

There’s an article in The Hill which goes a little bit deeper into the “how the sausage is made” aspect of what this is an means, and how we got to this point.

I'm sure a rag-tag group of plucky Americans will take care of that meteor and all will be well again.
I just fear that the guy left behind on the meteor with the detonator will pause as he realize he's about to kill himself and not do it, thus dooming the planet and then dies anyway by gruesome, prolonged suffocation.

According to one CNN opinion, Trump sounds normal in private, suggesting that his public face really is an act.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/25/opinions/michael-cohen-donald-trump-tape-strategy-zelizer/index.html

I haven't heard the tape, but the article suggests that the Trump on the tape is a coherent, strategizing human, distinctly different than the Trump portrayed before the public and news media.

The article is compelling, though, and concludes:

"...listening to it suggests that there is a method to his madness and that should be eye-opening for opponents who think there is no way he can possibly make it to the end of his term or get re-elected."

"While we certainly can't read too much into this short piece of audio, [goes on to too much into this short piece of audio.]"

Still, the general point is likely true in that Trump (as with GWB) is easy to underestimate. I doubt he is really as shrewd as they are hinting at in the article, though.

Sessions announces formation of the Religious Liberty Task Force, to finally take on Trump over the Muslim ban.

Just kidding, it'll be to enforce Christian supremacy and stamp down Jewish people, Muslim people, LGBT, and other heretical deviants.

You think that's bad, wait until Trump gets impeached and Pence steps in. You want a theocracy? That's how you get one.

Pence would be no different than trump. Trump lets pence do whatever religious discrimination he wants now. Just because the guy issuing an order isn't a true believer doesn't make the effects of the order different.

I'd like to imagine the idea of Theocracy is something the Supreme Court would be willing to go to bat against; not all of the conservative justices are religious nut jobs and they have nothing to gain by emboldening an already militant Evangelical sect. More to the point, they are specifically allowed to just go "You know what? FUCK what the Founders wanted."

I allowed myself a daydream a couple of weeks back that someone managed to feed the public the story that Trump is secretly a Satanist, which caused a tiny uproar, but mostly just forced the big orange twatwaffle to have to appear in church every Sunday instead of going golfing. It made me smile. YMMV.

Holy shit, you guys just took the first step to Saudi Arabian religious police.
Nah, see, that's different, because it's the right religion this time....

Sounds like it time for another Baphomet Statue... maybe some Quran quotes in public spaces... Atheist shops refusing to serve people that wear crosses?

See I'd find that interesting because that would be a precedent for Atheism to be treated like a religion. Which in some places means NO usage of public facilities for religious purposes. So that may backfire spectacularly.
