We are very understaffed here at the moment. Before the oil crash, we had 50+ employees. Now we have about 20. Less work, but enough that everyone is always running around with their hair on fire. I was here until 12:30 last night trying to meet a deadline. I don't necessarily blame management either, because at the moment in this industry, it's feast or famine. Right now it's feast, but who knows what tomorrow brings.

Wow, when I left my last job for a promotion I was given a party and a plaque. I was only there 8 years, my boss hated me, but the director loved me...

So I can't imagine how negative the relationship was for her to slip out in the dead of night.
She had only been there about nine months, but had managed to make a complete mess. She wanted to make "bold changes" and "make her mark", but actually didn't bother to learn her job. She would scream louder and louder to get her point across thinking that would help instead of sitting down and taking the time to learn stuff. She sat me down time and time again to teach her her job, even though she was two levels above me. She couldn't grasp that I could only teach her my branch's part. She created problems with branches that I never even knew interacted with us before because she had no handle on her job. We had a guy acting in the job for two years before her that did an excellent job and I missed that guy every day.

The best was one week she had a 30 minute call planned with a client and she hauled us all into an all afternoon brief teleconference. It was over four hours. Each branch had to report on all this stuff and I had no idea what she thought her call was going to be about. This was a few days in advance. Half an hour before her call, I get called by her and she's screaming right off the bat. Yay. She has lost her notes and I'm expected to fill her in on everything from this call. Even the parts that aren't mine. And when I speak too long on one part, she screams for me to shut up and wants to know what's next. I told her something that surprised her (that isn't good for the client) and she wasted time cussing me out and she's just awful about it wanting to know why I didn't tell her the other day. I said 1 - I did 2 - its common knowledge among all your branches and you were briefed many times on it before today 3 - the client signed off on it before you started and understands.

Is it bad that I was really happy that she didn't last long after I was gone?

Don't you work in auditing? How bad do you have to be to be the person that auditors hate?

Dear Sir and/or Madam;

I wish to complain in the strongest possible terms about the fact that the work week is not over yet.

Cordially yours, etc, Brigadier Arthur Gormanstrop (Mrs.)

I still feel so gross. I can sit up today finally and was eventually well enough to shower, but I'm still dizzy and queasy. My kids know this last one and kept talking about this super gross thing that happened at school today. My stomach just turned again when I typed about it. Bleh lol.

And my eyes are running along with my nose. Why does that happen? It's like I'm crying non-stop. It's bizarre. I've never had this happen.

The electrical system in my car just died beyond letting me start the car, and my steering and such completely lost it's shit as I turned onto the interstate on ramp, so now I'm sitting on the ramp waiting for a tow because I'm not going to risk more things going wrong while driving on a highway.

Oohg, that sucks a lot. Probably the right call though.

Had a date planned for tonight with a girl from tinder. We've been talking for almost a week. I was looking forward to it. Turned down other plans because of it.

Literally 45 minutes before she sends me a text how she's too scared to meet someone from online. Unmatches me on tinder. Won't return a text.

Like, come on. We were going to meet in a public restaurant, not like it was just "come over and lets fuck." We've been texting today like literally nothing was wrong. Now I'm doing jack shit when I could've had something going on. Just rude.

That's lame. And super rude. I'm sorry to hear that.

So it was recommended to me that I might want to look into Arduino to help create the animatronic eyes for my Cappy variant of my Mario costume. So I start looking at beginner tutorials about it on Youtube and begin to remember why I'm the world's worst programmer. Once the videos start talking about the coding that goes into Arduino, I immediately start to zone out and get a headache, just like back in college. :(

While I doubt seriously you are the world's worst programmer, if you want help with this, let me know. This kind of thing I have a lot of experience with, and I wouldn't mind helping.

Me too. Just like the occasional excel or computer thread, between fade and I you’ll get plenty of help sorting anything you might have trouble with out.

Yes, it seems like such a huge mountain to climb, but don’t look at he peak, just get to blinking LED, then wriggling servo, and take it one step at a time.

When you get done you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you’ve accomplished and I promise you it’s not too hard for you.

Got way too much cooking stuff and far too little space to store it. That's what happens when you go from a house to a room. But I'm not ready to give up the tools I've put a lot of time and money obtaining. I brought in an extra microwave cart for extra storage, but it takes up valuable living space.

I guess my best option is to take as much as I really want or can't yet bear disposing of yet and sort it out as I go. My sister is pushing me to sell some stuff I'm leaving behind, but I really don't want to deal with it. Some of it's been sitting for up to a decade without being touched, and the bother of dealing with it on everyone else's schedule when I need to be resting for work isn't worth the expected return.

Get to work, get into an argument, feel bad.
Leave work, go to the dentist for a root canal, have them stop halfway through because of my nervous tics and twitching.
Get back to work, get into yet another argument

I don't want to be here anymore. Seriously I don',t I have no clue what I'm doing here anymore, I just feel bad, bad bad.

Can you hire an estate sale company? They'll take a cut of course, but this is exactly why they exist.

Hang in there, man. Hug your girlfriend extra tight tonight.

The company we lease our copier/printer workstation from sent us the wrong waste toner cartridges. I sure hope nobody needs to print anything for the next couple days while I try to get this sorted out.
