Minor victory thread

Well, you've been researching this story for...how many years, now?

--Patrick
Heh, I know you mean my lifelong battle with staying sane, but honestly, I've been thinking about this for over 15 years. Shortly after I wrote The Never-Ending Battle. I thought about extending the story into a full book. I think at one point, I considered writing as a stage play.

What changed recently is I finally realized what the personification of Depression is. As you see in that first chapter I posted, it's an amplified version of everything I hate about myself.

I am off work until next Monday, June 12. Friday is my daughter's wedding.

So really a mixed bag, I'm off, get to eat well Thursday and Friday, and somebody else is doing all the cleanup after the wedding. IT"S COSTING A FREAKING FORTUNE!!

I hear what you're saying, but all I can picture is:

Oh, I am. I actually looking forward to seeing where they go as a couple and what lies in their future. I like the young man she's getting hitched to, we've had fun beating the crap out of each other in video games and having interesting discussions. I'm looking forward to possibly going to their place and leaving empty glasses and trash all over... well, dream of that, I won't do it. It's also time for her to get out, for her own health and safety, Mothers and daughters do not need to live under the same roof after the kid is 21.

But dear lord, we all need to start business, for anything really, and just add the word "wedding" to it, it automatically adds at least double the "normal" rate. Wedding Bounce Houses, Wedding Slip'n'Slide, Wedding Fidget Spinners... the chances are endless.[DOUBLEPOST=1496802183,1496802109][/DOUBLEPOST]
I hear what you're saying, but all I can picture is:
I love both versions of Father of the Bride. Spencer Tracy was amazing in the original, and Martin did a superb job on the remake.

I don't know if any one here is into the Inktense pencils or not, but they're also sold in sticks of pure colour without having to bother with pencils and sharpeners and you can cover large areas super quickly. I love to window shop on Amazon and I came across this deal which is probably too good to be true. 24 of these for $12?!?! I bought one just case it is actually legit and I end up getting one in the mail. I almost feel bad because it has to be a typo. The Inktense pencils sell for $3.50 each in open stock.

Here's the link and I highly recommend grabbing some. $12 very well spent. They are all lovely colours when applied dry, but when you activate them with water, they become incredibly vivid and turn into permanent ink.

Amazon product[DOUBLEPOST=1496822247,1496822040][/DOUBLEPOST]Wow, here's 36 of the pencils for $15!!

Just finished giving a job interview.

The people we lost in my department have officially been replaced. We're back at full strength again. Or, rather we will be once the new guys join us, which will happen in the next month or two. And as new editors, they won't be able to handle huge caseloads right away, so we'll need to gradually bring them up to speed. But at least we'll have butts in all the chairs again. :)

So I got kicked out of a fb group today... A friends husband died leaving behind 2 kids (2 and 11 or 12 at the time). Anyway in the last week or so an unknown kid came into the picture (23 yo) and was posting in the group, it ended up hurting the widow and her kids the way she made everything about her and was ignoring how what she was saying was affecting the young kids saying things like "they had there time with our dad, I never did" etc. Anyway everyone on the dads family is on her side with what she's saying and my wife and one other person (along with the widow) are hurt by it causing a big argument. Anyway, one of the ladies called my wife bitter and asked what would Jesus do (my wife is only saying that the new kid needs to take the young kids into consideration when she post). So I replied asking if the new kid was a Christian, and then I quoted Luke 19:27 http://biblehub.com/luke/19-27.htm

I was subsequently kicked from the group, but st least I got a laugh from it first.

Note:the widow has no admin authority on the group so she can't do anything about any of it

I rode a hoverboard without dying. Kind of scary until you get the hang of it. I have a longboard I regularly ride and this thing was way harder despite doing the thrust part for you.

Daughter and Son-in-Law made it back from honeymoon, they had a good time, they have now claimed the Pug and we are a completely empty nest for the first time since 1989, no children, no pets, just the two of us.

Found the email account associated with my xbox gamertag that I haven't used in 8 years. The challenge arose because it wasn't a normal microsoft account suffix (outlook, hotmail, live.com) but instead an email that redirects/forwards to another non-MS email account. Wonder if I can use it to game on my new PC.

So since we moved into her dad's house after her mom died, Kati has kinda taken over the kitchen, but she can be anxious about things like fires and what-not, so I took some of the tax refund this year and bought a new kitchen fire extinguisher to replace the one that's been hanging in mom's kitchen as long as she can remember.

...yeah, it was probably time.

Btw Amazon keeps sending me email asking me to rate the product, but honestly I hope I never find out how well it works.

I really shouldn't have come into this thread after reading about Gas's adventures in Rimworld. I read this & thought "Just have Kags standing by in the kitchen ready to drunkenly vomit on any fires that get started. Problem solved."

We could also say that given PatrThom's propensity to start fires, Kati ought to be worried.

Walked in to Hot Topic while my daughter was at Painting class and saw a Yuri on Ice section. :D
I didn't know Yuri on Ice was the name of an anime, and thought it referred to the other definition of "yuri" as found in Japanese culture, and was very confused for a second. Confused, and aroused.

And yes, searching for "yuri" in this context should be considered NSFW.

Preeeeeeetty sure that's not a coincidence.

Tried out 10lb stronger limbs on my bow to make outdoor easier. I managed to use them for an hour and my arms didn't want to fall off! I'm so proud. I think my arms and back of my shoulder will be mad tomorrow, but that is future me's problem.
"Future me" Dei in maybe three years:
