If you use the speedtest.net android app, be sure to force-stop it after every use... I just noticed my pocket was really freaking warm, took out my phone, found that apparently going back to the home screen wasn't enough after having done a speed test an hour ago, and the app (specifically, I suspect its embedded ad stuff, that's usually where shit goes wrong) was chewing through battery at higher than 10% an hour. Bleh.
Welcome to the 1%.

I still don't understand why Jyn and Co. couldn't have just been off on some random planet during the events of the OT. The former republic was, what, like thousands of star systems?

Double Baby Back Rib Burger. Although someone else got the western bacon cheeseburger and had the same reaction.
I googled up some recent reviews of the food there, it sounds like they aren't as good as they were 20 years ago. Frequently mentioned gripes are how much thinner the bacon is compared to how it used to be, and the parsimonious nature of other things "added" to the various burgers.

Shame, really.

Man, did my weather app get today wrong. It said it was supposed to thunderstorm and the high was going to be 83. Here I sit at sunny and 91. Granted, a few miles east a gigantic thunderstorm passed us by and is savaging east Texas and Louisiana, and EAS warnings are popping up basically saying Houston's about to become one big bayou yet again.... but it missed here.

And they're trying to tell me the high tomorrow will be 76. Yeah, I'll believe it when I believe it, you charlatans.

I'd say even within the last 5 years they were a lot better than they are now - though nothing like Hardee's was in the south 30 years ago - and they're still my preferred burger chain* if I have a choice, but yeah, they've dropped off a lot recently. They're just getting cheap - they're still no Subway with their 6 black olive slices and 6 pickle slices per footlong sub, though.

I caught a mother fucker at subway trying to make me a footlong with 3 slices of meat instead of 4. Not going there any more. Maybe not to any subway again. Wish there was a Jimmy John's on this side of town.[DOUBLEPOST=1493852384,1493852125][/DOUBLEPOST]

HA HA DISREGARD THAT THE SKY JUST TURNED BLACK AND THE BUILDING IS SHAKING IMMA GO HOME

What'd you get? If you didn't get the western bacon cheeseburger, you may as well not have gone.

Granted, I haven't had one in over 15 years, so maybe they suck now.
This is sort of my barometer for "is this just fast food or GOOD (enough) fast food" when it comes to burger places.

McDonalds, Wendy's, Sonic, A&W, Dairy Queen... no BBQ burger, so these are places of last resort.

Burger King, Steak and Shake, Rally's/Checkers, Carl's Jr., Five Guys... all have a good or at least decent BBQ bacon burger. White Castle goes here too, but only because they specialize in something completely different than other burger places: caramelized onions.

That is extremely similar to my list, only BK has dropped off of it because the ones around here suck donkey balls, and I don't have Steak and Shake or Rally's/Checkers... man the PNW sucks for food chains, but at least we have a taco place that thinks runny ranch dressing belongs on tacos instead of sour cream.

*I realize I forgot to include the * in my last post. It was supposed to exclude In-n-Out from the list of things I've tried. Even though my wife and I spent a week in San Diego last year, I never got to try one while I was there.

McDonald's has severa' different BBQ burgers around here.
None of 'm worth much, but still
McDonalds is usually put into the "because where else am I going to go" column by default. If it wasn't for my mother's refusal to try fish anywhere else, I probably wouldn't have had it in years.

I can't have Smashburger again. The first and only time I had it was in the Philadelphia airport. I was checking election results and while Trump was doing better than expected, there was no reason to worry...

Might be dumb, but that's what I'll always associate it with.

My son is trying very hard to convince me to let him opt out of the contraceptive demonstration in health class tomorrow.[DOUBLEPOST=1493869038,1493868860][/DOUBLEPOST]And I got him to calm down once I explained that the permission slip was only to make sure no one would get angry if their kid learned about more than abstinence. I don't know what he thought they were going to do in class that was so terrible.

Have a "live fire" demonstration?

About the time you posted this, our power went out. Hail (pea sized), a storm that gave the impression that it was raining lightning, high winds... lots of little tree branches down, a few larger limbs. Power was out for well over an hour, found I had to replace a battery on a smoke detector (hate that beep) and watched some really freaking brave birds bitch at us for taking down the bird feeder during the storm. Everything is fine now, and you have have that forecast temperature today.

Pez keeps saying I'm 'the Terrik of texting', what the fuck does he mean?? I'm competent!! I feel so judged!
Terrik isn't incompetent, he's just.... in a hurry. Not very careful. And completely ambivalent about the consequences :D
