[Gaming] Overwatch (#boycottblizz)

Last night I dreamed I was playing torbjorn, and figured out how to build my turret on an office chair. Then I could just push around the chair. But then the payload got lost and kept going in circles. My whole team abandoned me, and Mei and D.Va came and beat the ever living shit out of me.

My wife's brother bought Overwatch at her behest, and listening to her instruct him in it is painful. She's explaining the game while they're doing custom practice matches the way you might explain it to an 8-year-old ... he's 27 and can figure out what he's doing. I mean, whatever, but I'd be getting annoyed if someone insisted I only learn to play Soldier 76 until I got good enough with him to move onto another character.

My favorite thing about Overwatch in the first week or two was playing every character and deciding which ones I enjoyed the most. If I had been pushed into only playing one character at first I think I'd have a lot less interest in the game.

Same here.

That said, I got her to lay off him and let him pick what he thought might be cool. He picked Hanzo :/ so maybe she was right not to let him choose.

To be fair, he's an easy way to get used to sniping compared to Widow.

On the flipside, at least he didn't pick Genji.

Oh, and you guys would have been amused at the number of people going into the sword shops at RenFest yesterday asking for "Genji's sword from Overwatch." The vendors got caught totally flatfooted on that one.

I'm kind of surprised Blizzard doesn't have an official replica to sell, like they do for Frostmourne and the Doomhammer.
