Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

There's always been scrap metal recycling. That's a whole different story, because there's money in it. But it's not going to get you $565!
Years ago you'd get a flat $600 if you drove your car to the scrapper, and $300 if they had it towed to them (they pay towing).

Now all the scrappers want to know the make, model, year of the car and give you a quote based on that.

But it's still $300 and up.

Then again, this is southeast Michigan, and cars and car parts are somewhat more valuable because there's always someone looking for a crazy part not made any more on some old model, and Detroit is the place the whole country looks to for this sort of thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1460555871,1460555761][/DOUBLEPOST]Actually, the price fell when the cash for clunkers program happened - the rules were that the engine had to be disabled (usually drilling a hole through the heads), but the rest could be parted out.

Got a lot of inventory in the used parts lots, and I think that's when the prices fell.

My dead MX-G GT Turbo, which I previously referenced melting the heads, sold to a scrapyard and basically broke even on towing.

Ugh. I've not been feeling too great since I got back, and it seems like every day I feel a little bit worse. Today I ache, I can't... brain good sometimes... and all my limbs feel heavier than they should be. I keep wanting to just slide down to the floor and stay there. I hope I'm not getting sick. I don't have a fever, headache, nausea, lightheadedness or any upper respiratory symptoms... but man, I just feel run down. Which is often an indicator I'm about to get slammed with something nasty.

Adapting back to Terran gravity after a prolonged stay on Endor can have that effect.

You should take preventative measures just in case, like plenty of bedrest, and chugging half a bottle of Wild Turkey to sterilize your insides.

Fucking hell, well that was a waste of time and money. I was all set and ready to go to a book club at the library today (discussing Ru, by Kim Thuy). I thought it started at 2. Nope, it started at 1. So I missed the whole fucking thing.

Fucking hell, why do I even bother with anything? I know it's just a book club thing but I have so little - aka: nothing - going on in my life that it was the one thing I'd been looking forward to all week.

Fuck spring break. A week off means we are back to square one with homework, and it just took my son 5 hours to get MAYBE 40 minutes worth of homework done. *sigh* At least he got it done.
Given that I don't pay a lot of attention to...well anything really, I'm not sure if you've addressed this, but have to you ever considered having him assessed for anxiety? Both my kids had similar issues (homework being an all night thing, unable to work at all in class). My nine-year-old has been being treated for anxiety for a year now and has made great improvements. My 13 year old just began treatment, but it's looking very similar. Basically, performance anxiety makes it impossible to get work done. The avoidance looks like all kinds of other things, but it was anxiety. Just something to consider.

I blame airplane crud, because I have this exact feeling.

He has autism. He hates homework.

Eat a generous, balanced meal, drink plenty of water-based fluids, and get a couple full nights' sleep. It might mean putting aside the modeling gig for at least a couple days, but you'll feel better later.

The dog went chasing after a rabbit, and came up limping. She can't put weight on a back leg, and we think it's sprained. Of course, our vet wasn't in, and the nearby animal hospital hits you for at least $500 for an exam like that.

We're hoping it clears up. Over the last few hours, she has started to put the foot down a bit, but for frig's sake, it's getting ridiculous.

Meh, it's not all bad today. Got the phone issue cleaned up, at least, and fixing the car might be much for affordable than originally thought.

Yippie. I've got the night off and instead of playing games or hanging out on various web sites, I get to stare at error messages thanks to a DDOS attack in Ashburn, VA. Everywhere I want to go is down. :p

I'm actually offended that Netflix keeps suggesting Pee Wee Herman movies for me. In what world does that and Archer, Jessica Jones and cheesy dance movies equal Pee Wee Herman?

I'm guessing those options would indicate you're of a certain age and therefore might be interested in Pee Wee for the nostalgia factor.

Slept horribly last night, have felt like I've had a head stuffed full of cotton and somebody running heavy machinery in an attempt to mine it all day.

I'm 46 years old, and I need a nap.

I used to pride myself in being able to get my taxes owed/refunded down to near $0... but this will be the third time I've been unable to do so. At least this time it's only because I couldn't predict youtube revenue instead of... you know... all the shit that went down at the end of 2013.

The IMAX theater at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI is closed and will not be an imax screen when it re-opens. This is disappointing because they had the largest IMAX screen in michigan (84' x 62' or 26m x 19m) and ran real 70mm film - two of them for 3D.

One of the local Ann Arbor cinemas had a 70mm projector when it opened (true IMAX vs the newer digital format) but I'm not sure that's the case anymore - When The Force Awakens was shown in true 70mm in 40+ theaters in the US, this one was not listed as one of them. I believe they've switched to the digital format. The digital IMAX format has very few differences from any other digital projection format in most theaters today, IMAX has so diluted its product in order to get its brand into theaters that there's little reason to seek out an IMAX showing vs a regular showing of a movie anymore.

The last movie to play on the Henry Ford Imax in true 70mm 3D was The Polar Express, re-released just last month before closing. Wish I had known it was closing, and that they were showing it again. The blueray doesn't compare to the true IMAX experience.

RIP, IMAX. :(
Well, it's still an "imax" but it's a digital 4k projector rather than film. Looks like the same size screen.

Looks like they're focusing on education. We'll have to wait and see if they show any movies...
