The Undisputed Unified Wrestling Thread

So I'm not sure if everyone has seen the strange story that's been going on at NXT house shows between Bayley and Finn Balor.

It all started when Finn legit hurt his ankle, and Bayley asked him if there was anything she could do to help cheer him up.

Then after he was feeling better he let her know how much he appreciated her.

Now he's asking her to dance.

Saw Arrival on Hulu. Damn, was it good. Corbin is really coming along. Nakamura and Zayn was fantastic. The championship match was great, and the crowd was just fun. I'm disappointed Bayley didn't get a longer title reign, especially after that incredible ironman match with Sasha, but it might mean she's getting called up.

On that note, word is the Divas brand is on the way out, and WWE is commissioning a new Women's Belt. That's how big of an impact the NXT Women's Division is having.

Fun thing - Apparently, Bayley shared an essay she wrote back in high school sometime last year. Just saw it a day or so ago.

Mission Accomplished. Champ? Check? Being part of an elite group of athletes that ended the model-slap-fight era? Check.

Holy hell - Zach Ryder won the Intercontinental title!?! NEVER saw that coming. Dang.

Don't understand why Jericho goes over Stylez when he'll probably be gone again soon.

New Day came out as Saiyans. They really are just the best thing in WWE right now.

Welp, outside of the women's match - which was phenomenal - that was probably the worst WrestleMania I've watched in a long time. Almost every single booking decision and result was either horrendously stupid or mind-bogglingly irritating.

Like, the 6-man tag. They have the tag team champions lose in a non-title match AT WRESTLEMANIA, then have the winners beaten up by a bunch of retired guys. So NONE of the participants in that match got over, in favour of putting over guys who aren't even wrestling anymore. I think that match pisses me off the most it represents everything wrong with WWE these days: ridiculous booking where no one gets over, plus putting far too much emphasis on retired guys or part-timers.

Still, I actually want to tune in tomorrow. Not for any excitement of potential storylines, but just to see how vicious the super-smark crowd will be to the new champion.

I agree on the booking decisions. Lesner beating Dean Ambrose isn't exciting, and Shane getting beat is a waste of the potential upset of the century, but I still found the whole production to be very entertaining. I'll admit I may have been yelling bang bang when Foley showed up, and I loved getting to see them do their finishers. Everything with the Rock and Cena was pointless and could have been cut for time, and I am surprised that Roman is the face headlining at WRESTLEMANIA, when he is as likeable as a cactus.

But as a returning fan, I still found it great fun. Need more New Day.

So, Wrestlemania was what, 17 hours long?

Fucking hell. The only person that wasn't punked out by 50+ year old barely mobile old timers or part timers was Roman Reigns, and he was mercilessly booed.

Christ, even Sasha couldn't escape the cold hard grip of an ancient old wrestler, but at least that match was fucking awesome.

Best moment of the night has to be The New Day coming out of a box of butthole themed cereal dressed as fucking saiyans.

Zack Ryder wins? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? That should have been Zayn or KO's match, since they're the only thing anyone's going to give a shit about tomorrow. Zack Ryder is such a waste.

Glad this only cost me a moment of time signing up for a free month of US WWE Network.

NXT (aside from the horrendous constant stops in the main event to wipe off Joe) was a billion times better.[DOUBLEPOST=1459771852,1459771515][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, one last thing, Jericho put over FUCKING FANDANGO at a Wrestlemania, but he goes over AJ God damn Styles? What theeee fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck?

I lied, one more last thing, if someone were to tell to me after last year's Wrestlemania that the best finish of the night was going to be Baron God damn Corbin, I would have spit in your face. Funny that. Dude's improved an insane amount in a year. I love his constant trash talk during matches. Not enough people do that. Great heels like Kevin Owens basically.

One more thing, Kevin Owens is the fucking best. Him tossing the Dusty ladder in disgust was amazing.

Ryder wins so you will believe that anything can happen.

Jericho wins because Vince hates the idea that you can succeed without him.

What was the point of the Taker match again.

And yawn to Roman.

So, we see Owens get back the Intercontinental title tonight, I'm sure. Ryder got over on the Internet without Creative doing it, so of course ANY push will last only minutes. Or, they could use it as an opportunity to bring in Mojo Rawley and Hype Bros. The fuck outta Raw. It's still a tremendous waste of Zayn. I wonder if they've got the jitters with him because of his injury history like they did with Barrett.

Vince didn't create AJ Stylez, so of course, fuck him. Vince probably THINKS he created Jericho because the impact he made on WWE was bigger than WCW. It's not like he was a star when he was over there, right? Right?

Sooo disappointed Shane lost. It could have been the best story in YEARS. Split the brand, and have Raw and Smackdown at war with each other. It really could have been exciting. Hopefully, they make up for it tonight. Post-Mania Raw has been better than Mania for a few years now.

The best faction gets beat by the worst faction, which then gets beaten by the oldest faction. Of course.

The Rock sets a record nobody ever wants to see set during a Rock match. But then JOHN CENA!!!!

Corbin is so much better than he was a year ago. He's an absolute beast. Thank God Shaq didn't win that match.

HHH's Mania entrances get a bit crazier every year. He's like three years away from a GWAR show with a Motörhead soundtrack.

Least impact full Wrestlemania ever. Jericho goes over AJ, so AJ becomes number 1 contender. League of Nations goes over New Day, they fail to capture the tag belts and kick out Barrett, immediately after getting crushed by the Wyatts. Shane loses to Taker, Shane is in charge of Raw. Zach Ryder wins the Intercontinental belt, and immediately loses it in a move every single person with even a passing familiarity with WWE could see coming.

The storyline shoulder injury to Sami Zayn was some fucked up bullshit, though. There's a million other ways to write him out of the number 1 contender's match, and that way sucked the most.

I did love the fact that everyone seemed to have a, "For the love of God Almighty, don't let the crowd chant vulgar slogans. This is PG!" Vince cut his promo short because of a chant, you just know it.

At least Maryse returning to team with Miz was a little bit of a shock.

But I disagree on the Zayn part. Owens is a monster heel, and their feud doesn't need the IC Title.

It does appear Owens is moving to the WWE championship picture. There was nary of hint of him getting a rematch for the IC.

Gotta admit, it's a move I'd love, especially if we get an Owens-Rollins title match at some point.

Ric Flair was detained at the airport for appearing drunk and disorderly, he was released when officials realized he was not acting like Ric Flair but actually was Ric Flair.

Thank goodness it wasn't Gary Busey.

What happened to Enzo Amore was gut wrenching. Holy Christ on a pogo stick I hope he's ok.

I think tonight has shown that KO is basically the best thing in the WWE for managing to bring the show back from the dead after that tragedy.

Updated Enzo's condition: He's talking and can move his extremities. Saw the injury. God damn, that was scary. He's probably got a serious concussion from that, minimum.

When the best news out of WWE Payback was that one of their most promising blue chip prospects only suffered a MILD concussion/head injury, you know the show was pretty much a disaster.

It looked like Payback was better recieved than a lot of other PPVs. The US title match was pretty entertaining, New Day was terrific even though they weren't in a match. KO and Zayn saved the night. We got the Chicago Screwjob. Even the Heavyweight title match was entertaining.

All I know is, the Vaudevillains are going to have nuclear heat, so they need to take advantage tonight.

So this is a thing that happened in TNA recently.

It's unquestionably the most amateur thing I've ever seen. I mean, backyard feds could do a better job than this.

Also: suddenly, BABY!

Wow, Billy Corgan + Dixie Carter = complete garbage.

So last week there was a match in NJPW's Super Juniors tournament that broke the wrestling internet. People either love it or hate it. Personally I think it was good, but not the best match that I've seen, even just this year (Zayn/Nakamura). Still what do you guys think? Is it destroying the industry, or shaping what the next generation of matches will become?
