As far as I can tell, White refers to color, Pride refers to logo style, Slouch refers to hat shape/construction.
Yes, and The North Face could make a series of shirts called colorface in the U.S., and it'd be unfortunate and ill-advised to run a black shirt in the line.

Weird thought, do Masochists need to sign a paper to assure the cops that they aren't being physically abused? I'm not saying said contracts NEEDS to exist, but I wouldn't be surprised if masochists had to deal with that kind of bureaucracy. And now I'm imagining the place where they get the masochist license, probably the most disgusting government office of all time. And would they have officials who could tell? Like I said, weird though.

It actually doesn't matter: some forms of physical abuse are statutory in some places, so the police can and will arrest people for doing it consensually. And yes, people suddenly having second thoughts and going to the cops is a huge issue in the S&M communities and others, basically because consent can be revoked after the fact unless you have it in writing and even such a document could be ruled invalid if a lawyer is good enough.

I enjoy this short essay on the subject on that kind of rights waiver: The Right to Waive Your Rights.

So I don't know if this is a new thing since I was in school, or just something that is a thing here, but there's this whole fight with the Colorado School board in my school district about changing the "official" college tests from the ACT to the SAT, and that sophomores will take the PSAT instead of state testing, and they want an extra year with the ACT.

When I was in school, the SAT and ACT were both entirely optional things, you could take neither, or one, or both, and you paid for it yourself. They didn't affect your actual schooling in any way. WTF?

I went to high school in Colorado Springs, and they administered the ACT, no choice for the SAT, but also I did not pay for it.

Thats how it was for me. I remember reading information about the two to determine which test style I thought would be better suited for me.

I mean, there are Catholic high schools in the area that aren't trash. Also I can think of two places you could have gone off the top of my head, but since you said private and specifically said college prep, I might have to go with this one.

Yep! The nichols edge! I thought the way I rudely looked down on everyone from another school was a nice giveaway too.

Incidentally, I'm embarassed for my high school alma mater that their website is so horrendously awful.

I destroyed the entrance exam to Nichols, but my parents didn't see the point in spending the money. I'm not super sad about it. ;) I was very fond of my High School. Incidentally, I have never seen a well done school webpage.

My husband decided to work from home today because the roads are shitastic, what are the odds that today is the day the other insurance company finally approves the rest of my car repairs? (which can be done really quickly once they have the go ahead)
