Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

It's not that easy sadly.

My substantive job is fantastic and if I don't do all this extra it will be bad for my team not just me. Someone has to lead the office and I want the promotion when it's posted. This lady is new and horribly overwhelmed. I can't tell yet if she's going to be able to do her job or not yet.

My direct boss (who is leaving soon which is why I'm acting for him) and the guy who had her job last are with me and support me. If she doesn't get herself organized and start treating my team and I with respect soon, yes I will need to move on. I just can't leave though.

I need to vent somewhere appropriate because I can't in the office because everyone there vents to me about her and I need to appear like it's cool.

That's a bit different, then. She should get a pass since she's new. When it came from my supervisor, who had been there for three years, I was gone.

Extra whine. My weekend, coffee just kicking in, and of course Comcast takes the Internet down for maintenance in my neighborhood. Went down at 2 and not expected back until 6. Glad I wasn't all into the Fallout 4 hype. [emoji30][emoji24][emoji17]

(And also of course, I sleep through both the offer and the claiming of a free copy. #thirdshiftproblems)

So tired. This full time thing is difficult. Plus I found out my bills will be way lower than I thought so I need full time even less than I did before.

I'm trying to stick it out but I don't see doing this for very long.

Underling 1 is flirting with me. Which would usually be a minor victory, she's really cute and really nice - kidding around aside, she's one of my favorite people.
It's a whine because I'm her supervisor, and that exacerbates the whole "not dipping your pen in the company ink" thing. Also she's got a boyfriend (maybe even a fiancee I thought?... maybe not?).

My ethics class uses one book for half the semester, then switches to another book for the final half. I can't find the second book in my stuff. I think it got misplaced in our move.

There's a woman at work who's interested in me, but I'm not interested in her. It's annoying when this happens.[DOUBLEPOST=1447179640,1447179566][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh thanks, Pat, for the prescient suggestion. That could work.

Speaking of which, how is he doing since seizures and head smacking?

He's recovering gradually. He's able to be back at work part time, as long as he remembers to take his anti seizure medication in the morning. He still can't drive however, so she has to drop him off and pick him up.

Every god damn window in my house whistles when it's windy out. I hate trying to sleep when the wind is gusting to 30mph. :( Thanks shoddy cheap house construction. :p

So, so sick of the Veterans Day "thanks" from every media, celebrity, and athlete Twitter account. With the year-round military worship cult, Veterans Day has lost a lot of meaning.

And that E-nothing mess cook with five simultaneous fiancees who leaves the quarterdeck watch (a lot of times, me) to clean up his mess? I'm not thanking him. :p

Memorial Day: Fall version.

I think the whole "thank a vet" movement has become a knee-jerk reaction since 2001-2002. It's better than the opposite though.

I'm supposed to be doing some OT now. My team needs my stuff done by Friday and I should be getting a good start on that today.

But instead of working this afternoon, we went on a family adventure and I would so much rather be editing my waterfall pictures.
