Funny Pictures Thread. It begins again

Dude, Transformers meets Road Warrior? I would be there opening night for a post-apoc Transformers movie. It would even make sense - Decepticons hunting down and cannibalizing other vehicles for parts, the Autobots trying to preserve fragments of civilization against the savage horde, protecting a source of precious energon...

Some pretty cool, some pretty weird, some funny, some...Eh?
Also, in some, can't see what's going on. In the Space Jam one, is there anything altered/changed?

I wasn't sure about that one either. But if you want to see the full size of any picture, just click the gear in the top right hand corner and say "view full resolution" it will open that one picture in a new tab.

I often think to myself "GasBandit has a meme for this!". I mean, half the time I want to reply with a gif or picture but can't be assed to go find it :p

I've never used the term "meteoric rise" for exactly the reason Tyson states. Meteors always go "down," never "up." I respect you, Nye, and I understand completely what you are saying, but "meteoric rise" falls in the same bucket as "300% smaller" and "burned by dry ice." They are commonly used phrases with understood meanings that are driven entirely by context rather than the actual definition of the word(s) involved.

I've always assumed this is about the speed at which one rises, not the height or directionality.

I agree, but then I would have picked something other than "a meteor" as a better analogue. We already have the phrase "off like a shot" or "went up like a rocket," though shots usually go laterally, and rockets (the full-size ones, at least) take some time to accelerate to full velocity. Slipping the bonds of Mother Earth has always been a challenge.

And now I have that song in my head.

Takes me a couple minutes to find my car keys that I put in the same place every day, but the smallest prompt? "Badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger, mushroom mushroom..."

I remember playing DAOC back in like 2003, if you found a badger in the wild, and just followed it around saying "Badger" over and over again, eventually it would start screaming "SNAKE! SNAKE!"
