TIL: Today I Learned

TIL (okay, it was actually a few days ago) that the franchise that became the Milwaukee Brewers was born 15 days after I was.

Pilots > Brewers. :p ;)
Yeah, except for that whole "45 years in one city without declaring bankruptcy" thing. :p :p

Oh, and the "Still won more playoff games than those guys on the three rivers in the last 22 years" thing, too.

Three division titles to... nine. :p :p :p
One pennant to two :p :p :p :p
Still waiting on the ring, eh? :p :p :p :p :p

TIL that you can use PVA (Elmer's) glue to make crackle effects with acrylic paint. No need for special paint or medium.

I don't know if it's still there, but about 10 years ago they errected a statue here in Raleigh of North Carolina's greatest sheriff.
Speaking of TV personality statues, the home of my alma mater (Norman, OK) put up a statue of the great James Garner. I drove by whilst they were dedicating it. He also was at the OU home game that weekend, and we saw him there again. He was born in Norman. FYI the statue is just a block away from my favorite college hangout, Bison Witches. They had dollar Shiner Thurs.! Good times.

I shared an office with a programmer several years ago. We had this 8 foot square poster of Texas in there. At least once a day I'd get his attention and point at Glasscock and giggle.
Reading the wikipedia page, women have a higher median income than men in Glasscock county. It's now clear to me that all we need to close the wage gap, is renaming locations to things to make men feel slightly less secure.
