How about sodium lights from pickles? I know the idea is old, but the brightness these guys got from an arc welder is amazing

TIL about hobo nickels, which are carved coins. Originally the Indian head nickel, which was made of soft metal, but now any coin works.

TIL that county has a smaller population than the local high school I graduated from.
Speaking of TV personality statues, the home of my alma mater (Norman, OK) put up a statue of the great James Garner. I drove by whilst they were dedicating it. He also was at the OU home game that weekend, and we saw him there again. He was born in Norman. FYI the statue is just a block away from my favorite college hangout, Bison Witches. They had dollar Shiner Thurs.! Good times.
I shared an office with a programmer several years ago. We had this 8 foot square poster of Texas in there. At least once a day I'd get his attention and point at Glasscock and giggle.
Reading the wikipedia page, women have a higher median income than men in Glasscock county. It's now clear to me that all we need to close the wage gap, is renaming locations to things to make men feel slightly less secure.
