BananaHands' Terrifying and Terrific Tinder Thread!

Once again living in the ball of anxiety that comes with messaging someone and hoping:

a) that I didn't accidentally creep her out
b) that she isn't making fun of me with friends or on a blog somewhere
c) that she may actually be interested and message me back![DOUBLEPOST=1421976634,1421976588][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm a beautiful and unique snowflake that likes strawberry ice cream. :)

Wait wait wait, back up... @Celt Z you don't like chocolate ice cream? Chocolate ice cream is awesome!
My problem with chocolate ice cream is the same problem I usually have with milk chocolate: it's too sweet for me. I love chocolate, but it usually has to be dark chocolate. It's rare for me to find a brand of chocolate ice cream that I like, though I do like chocolate pieces or hot fudge in ice cream.

Not from me. If other people enjoy chocolate, awesome, they can have my share. I find chocolate-based ice creams upset my stomach faster than vanilla ones, but I won't begrudge people who enjoy it.
When I worked at an ice cream parlor in college, there was a chocolate-based flavor of Double Rainbow brand ice cream I like, but I could only have a couple of a spoonful or two at a time. I wish I could remember which one it was.

Dear god I love mint chocolate chip. Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip might kill me. Thin mints are already my kryptonite.

Uh, no. It is a solid example of flying too close to the sun. Chocolate is good, ice cream is good, surely if I combine them... But, no. Vanilla ice cream is obviously better.
Ice cream in general sucks.

Gelato is where it's at.

INB4 charlie accuses the ice cream discussion of being a thinly veiled metaphor exposing the racism on halforums.

I'm all for Vanilla with stuff added. like Maple Walnut, Almond Mocha, but I'm not a fan of Chocolate Ice Cream. Just a bit too much for me.

I prefer pistachio or Rhuim-raisin. Sorry :(

Also, Celt_Z, there's plenty of dark chocolate icecream out there that's more bitter than sweet. Just perhaps not in the US of A. Move to Belgium, we know how to chocolate ;)

You guys are making me miss working at the ice cream parlor. The owner encouraged us to try every flavor at some point so when customers asked, we could give an informed opinion. I got to try flavors I normally wouldn't be interested in, and was pleasantly surprised more often than not.

For those who like strawberry and rum raisin, I remembered we carried Bassett's in those flavors and they were both delicious. I recommend them if you get a chance. Also, a small scoop of their caramel cinnamon swirl is great in coffee instead of cream and sugar.

Do you think so little of the US to think we don't have dark chocolate icecream? We totally do, and it's wonderful.

Of course you do. I'm just replying to her "I usually don't like chocolate ice cream because it's too sweet" point. There's chocolate ice cream and chocolate ice cream, just like there's chocolate and chocolate. Anyone who thinks hershey's or Cadbury even deserves that name knows not the True Way of Chocolate ;)
Even between black chocolates, there's a huge difference. I'm not saying she "has" to like chocolate ice cream (because there are better flavors out there - chestnut is yummy too, for example), I'm only trying to say that, if 'too sweet" is her reason for not liking it, she should keep an open mind about some because there are types out there that are definitely not "too sweet" (since they're not very sweet at all).
