I kept both my and my wife's Magic Bands and souvenirs, and just wear them as bracelets. I actually use them to remind myself that, at its best, technology should work well enough that it seems like magic. (Hard to make accounting software seem magical, but it's a goal, right?)

I saw this news last night, but felt so horrible sick that I couldn't concentrate enough to post about it. I didn't read that article, but this is the reason that they are taking down the Sorcerer's Hat in front of the theater at Hollywood Studios, which in turn uncovers the largest hidden mickey that exists at WDW.

Oh, I know. And I'm glad it's back, I didn't even know, as I haven't tried tuning into those channels and I don't even really watch a lot of tv, but I did miss having cartoon network on in the background. I just wanted to take an extra moment to point out that they're still fucking fuckers. The fucking fuckers. :p

Until Charlie Ergen gets in yet another pissing match with the program providers.

Is it just me, or does Dish get into these disputes more than DirecTV and the major cable companies combined?

But they're the only source for TV where I live, and directv can't give me networks like fox or nbc for whatever weird reason.

That's odd. If you can receive those networks from Dish, there shouldn't be any reason why DirecTV wouldn't provide them. Unless the station ownership was in a dispute with DirecTV. In which case, they could provide the national feeds out of NYC or LA.

There was a time when you had to receive waivers from local stations to receive the networks from a satellite provider (one station sent an engineer to my house with an antenna and a meter before they'de sign off). Now that those stations are on satellite, they're not required as often.

YES! Jhonen is back to television! Also I learned there is a possibility of a Johnny the Homicidal maniac animated feature, which fills me with glee.

I'm trying to figure out what channel would show JtHM. It'd have to be Adult Swim, nobody else could get away with all the swearing and gore, and I don't see Vasquez as the kind of guy to bend to censorship.

Considering they air Black Dynamite which can be borderline pornagraphic, best bet.

There are actually other channels trying to get their own late night blocks off the ground... so it could be doomed to die somewhere else.

The problem with Nickelodeon is that he gave them exactly what they asked for, which resulted in something they didn't feel comfortable showing on TV until it reached cult status. Apparently they didn't know what he was famous for when they reached out to him, or at least the border didn't.

Disney is actually getting more relaxed after the success of Gravity Falls. You can get away with A LOT if you are a proven quantity.
