Minor victory thread

Man, it's totally true. If you're feeling blue, look past your problems to other people. I've spent this morning letting other teachers in crisis lean on me. While my problems are still there, taking a morning to focus on others has made me feel refreshed. It reminds me that none of us are alone and, while everyone's struggle is a bit unique, we've all been "there" before--even if "there" looks different for different people. I'm grateful that I could dig myself out of a hole today, because the weather is gloomy, and I needed a boost.

You have to realize that the 10-year-old in me thought about giving you a disagree on that. I have, so far, successfully avoided that urge.
Well...if you must, I'm not opposed. Pretty sure, I can handle one more disagree on my list. You can only have 1 disagree against me though, so use it wisely.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember disagree actually no longer counting as a negative rating, but only "needs a lock" doing so.[DOUBLEPOST=1412203318,1412203246][/DOUBLEPOST]Yep, double checked it. "Disagree," "Pun," and "Spoiler" are neutral ratings. Only "Needs a lock!" counts as negative.[DOUBLEPOST=1412203362][/DOUBLEPOST]Also GET ON MY LEVEL
/most posts
/most positive (more positives than anyone other than Dave even has posts)
/second most negative (but really, who can top CDS?)

You act like it's a competition.

It's not.

I used to be of the opinion that if I didn't have the highest number of negative ratings, I wasn't carrying my weight around here.

But CDS's given me some perspective and there's just some lengths to which I am not willing to go.

I still don't understand how I managed to get on the negative ratings list. I mean, I'm so very personable and amiable!

I am apparently a moron who doesn't understand cause and effect. Why is that a minor victory? Well... I've been having a lot of pain from some infected teeth (which are finally being pulled next Tuesday now), to the point that I couldn't go to work Tuesday morning because I was in too much pain to sleep the night before. Every six hours I would take more penicillin and pain killers, and every six hours my pain would go from a 1 on the 1 - 10 scale to around an 8.5 or a 9 for a good hour or so after I took the next dose of meds. But here's the thing, penicillin makes me sleepy, so I was taking my meds with coffee or hot tea. And then this morning I didn't want to make coffee so I used water. No pain. Where's the pain? What's changed? Oh... yeah. I'm a dumbass, and have been burning the semi-exposed nerve in the wisdom tooth that the dentist broke in an attempt to extract it. And just to test it I had some coffee when I got to work. Coffee hot = pain, coffee having cooled down some = no pain. Yeah, it's nice being able to eat solid food again.

I have never, and will never be willing to try handcuffs. I read Gerald's Game at a young age (13, I think) and it freaked me out for life. Any restraints I use for fun stuff has to have a way I can get out of them in an emergency.
