He mentioned tethering.
Yeah, but if you start streaming episodes of stuff on a tether, sometimes the wireless company does things to you.

In fact, there are some wireless carriers that actually put it in their contract that you're not allowed to stream video of any sort. Not even youtube. (Tracfone/Smart Talk)

Right. I also mentioned an app. I guess I was assuming that if the phone was advanced enough to offer tethering, then apps were probably available.

They generally increase the amount they bill you next cycle.

There are, and I could, but I'm even less ready to hand my smartphone over to my 4yr old, Otterbox or not.

Anyway, Internet's back on as of this morning, so problem solved.

So my ex who is still my friend on the Facebook for some reason has updated her picture with her and some new guy who looks like every roided out dick that I would have deal with on weekend nights when I was still general duty.

SIGH.

Quick turnaround. That sucks Frank, sorry. Best bet is to lawyer up, hit the gym, delete Facebook.

I was going to grill some burgers but a bird has made a nest in my BBQ. Could she have chosen one of the dozen bird houses I have up? Nooooo!!!

I had a dream once that I left the grill open and a little wren landed on it while it was hot. It instantly turned into a tiny golden brown turkey. Mmm mmm. That's good eatin'.

Hmm, haven't whined in a bit. Here goes:

- STILL not over girl-I-almost-dated. I feel like I should really be over this by now, dammit. I don't like being reminded of her, seeing her, or anything. I decided to try going a month without interacting with her in any way (she's fairly prominent in our group), and I'm 2 weeks in. It's not like it's hard, it's just... a thing I'm doing. Hopefully it'll help me forget her.

- In other news, after a cray night of drinking (where, surprisingly, nothing cray actually happened), I had a weird mental shift about how I act and who I am. Among other things, this means that when I do drink, I'm not drinking so hard; I'm less flirty in general (I'm kind of shameless); I'm going a month without posting anything on any social media (It strikes me as "seeking attention" somehow right now); and I'm trying to make sure I see myself as someone I want to be.

- Slightly related to above, I'm swearing off girls for right now. I've gotten decent female attention since my break up 10 months ago (damn that's been a while), but aside from girl-I-almost-dated above, none of it has really mattered and definitely hasn't made me happy. So right now I'm just kind of focusing on me. Trying to, anyhow.

It's really cheesy, but I read a "motivational image" that was like:
Creating a Day Worth Living:
- Get Up Early
- Expresss Gratitude for What You Have
- Do Something Productive
- Do Something Fun
- Do Something for Someone Else
- Get Some Sunlight
- Exercise
- Make Someone Smile
- Compliment Someone or Express Gratitude
- Learn or Do Something New

Again, cheesy, but each day I get up and make a quick list of things to do to fulfill each thing (or at least ones you can do, not stuff like "express gratitude" or make "someone smile"). So far it's actually helping a bit. I've made an effort to exercise at least 20-30 minutes each day, and results are good. I make sure to do at LEAST one productive thing per day, like "that thing you really need to fix but can't be bothered"; I make sure to set aside time to just do it. Getting something you needed to do done each day surprisingly makes you feel less shitty! Do Something Fun is to make sure you get some you time and actually play. Do something for someone else makes sure you stay social and apparent as a helpful person. Get some sunlight, well, just gets you out! I usually do this in the form of a relaxing drive or a walk. Complimenting / Expressing gratitude is a little harder because if you come out of nowhere it's seen as weird, but it's easy enough to slip in. People respond well to you noticing something they did with their hair, clothes, or whatever. As for learning or doing something new, it's a little harder to just pick something, but so far it's going okay.

I struggle with stagnation and depression as a result, so making steps to improve it! Woo!

Oh yeah. I heartily recommend swearing off girls for a while.
Just don't ask Jay what happened in Vegas.[DOUBLEPOST=1404298243,1404298044][/DOUBLEPOST]
So, what colour should I paint my office?
Especially given birch furniture, my vote is dark brownish or dark burgundy tint. Only if there's plenty of light, of course, but you said there was :p Just don't make the mistake my sister made, and paint the ceiling in that color too. That makes it tiny and claustrophobic.

I threw off my sleeping schedule again and now the sun's coming up and I have yet to sleep save for a 30 minute nap about 5 hours ago. I wanted to stay up to do stuff in the morning but now I'm feeling the sleepiness set in I know I'm going to end up being in bed until 3:00 in the afternoon.

I'm off to a wedding down in Northern Virginia. On the plus side, I get to visit my best friend who relocated to Alexandria, and while she's not attending the wedding, she only lives an hour from the location. The downside is...everything else. The wedding is on Friday night (yay Fourth of July) and Mr. Z has to work both today and Saturday, so I have go by myself. (Li'l Z will be watched by both him and my mom). I'm not really excited about doing a long drive by myself, especially to a place I've never been to. (The wedding is in a small town.) Also, having to drive near Washington D.C. on July 4th weekend? Ugggghhhhhhh. If it wasn't for the fact the groom has been my friend since I was a Freshman in high school (and was also a roommate for a few months), I probably would have skipped it when I found out Mr. Z had to work.

Guess I'm relying on my music to keep me focused and K.I.T.T*. to keep me on track.

(*Yes, we downloaded the GPS program to make K.I.T.T. (or Mr. Feeny**, depending on your age) our guide. It also let you program in your name, which is perfect because my husband chose his "American name" after David Hasselhoff's character in Knight Rider, his favorite show at the time. I like to tease him about that, but he's reminded me I'm lucky he didn't like the car's name more. )

(**Mr Z. also didn't realize that K.I.T.T. and Feeny were one in the same until I mentioned it in a GPS-guided drive. He says all he can hear is Feeny now. I really need to change the name it calls us to "Mr. Matthews".)

It's a shame you have such a busy weekend. You're going to be just a short hop from where I live. I'll get to meet some halforumites some day :(

Edit: Whine retracted :) It was awesome meeting Celt Z! Pic in the New Pictures thread

My back hurts like ####.

Children, take my advice: stay active and fit and don't put on the excess pounds. If your knees don't yell at you, your back will, eventually.
