[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

You know I realize I never showed the ACTUAL Draenei model they showed off back when they did it, so here you go.

I find this the most conservative change they have done to a race so far. The others are trying to mimic the old feel but still feel very new, while this one feels like more of a pure update to the old.

After hearing that most/nearly all side quests will no longer have any quest text and be generic kill x gather y quests with no purpose I'm close to being done with WoW.

Seriously, I get the fact that the quest text was fluff for kill x gather y style quests but not even bothering to add that is just flat out laziness. I don't like the direction WoW has been going in for a long time and now with SW:TOR being such a superior MMO in terms of storyline, I don't know how much WoW has a place in my playtime anymore. This is coming from someone that's been playing since release with 10 level 90s.

I really want that mount, but I doubt I'll get the chance to do it.
For me it's not about the mount or the achieve. It's a huge redemption for me based on how my guild viewed my performances. I was essentially scolded into my offset because my HPS were not high enough. I'm a monk dude, they will never be that high.

HPS is such an overrated statistic for healers. It's all about keeping yourself and others from dying due to unavoidable damage. There's a lot more involved to that than just spamming heals to top HPS.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out. I'm a bit leery too, but if it gives them a chance to make a better, more engaging main story line, I'm ok with it.

Agreed. I don't mind the side quests being less in-depth as long as that means more time and effort into the main storyline of each zone.

Yeah I've never bought the -If we spend less time doing this, then we can do better on THIS!- excuse.
To be fair, they are attempting a lot more of a radiant design. Things where you may stumble through a zone and find a sudden little story event occuring that you can take part in. That will mean a sacrifice somewhere else just from a design perspective, thus worrying less about side quests.

Why bother at all with kill x and gather y then? Why not just lower the needed xp per level instead of pointless quests with even more pointless objectives if they don't care about them anymore? That seems like an even BETTER use of resources so they can -devote more time to other things-

Gotta keep them there for a time sink.

haha implying that they would let you level faster.

Trust me, I would love faster leveling rather then side quests, but I am not going to hold my breath.

But they've consistently nerfed the xp needed to level as they've introduced new level caps. They've been letting people level faster for a long time. Getting to 90 would probably take a week at most if you played a few hours a day and just spammed dungeons. They might not make 90-100 fast, but everything prior is borderline trivial fluff once the xpac hits.

They do nerf the XP, but even so the general experience required has still been consistently higher then it was in WOTLK days at the end levels. Remember flying at level 77? Tome of Cold Weather for alts? Heirlooms to Cap? Start of RAF? I leveled 10 level 80s in WOTLK, I can't even stomach to level half my alts through the cataclysm levels.

Not like it matter much now with $60 level 90s.

A time-sink with at least some flavor/point was tolerable before. Now just for the sake of it? That's why I'm drawing the line.

I'm not either, but I'm probably holding my wallet.
Honestly, I'm not really liking a lot of what they're doing either. It has potential, but we'll have to see if they can deliver on it.

@Squidleybits, did you ever do the green fire quest on your lock? I'm starting to look into it for mine.

That's so funny that you ask that today! I just went back to try the final boss again after swapping to destro. I tried him a while ago with Affliction and it was painful.

I know destro better now and my gear has improved so I am hoping that I can get him with some more practice. The fight is very different and for me, far harder than the Celestial Blessing Challenge.

If it helps, I've been watching this guide. He doesn't go in with an incredibly geared character, so you can see it's at least doable. It takes a lot of coordination though.

I decided to Hop over to the isle of thunder and start killing some rares to find the tome, expecting it to be a hell of a long time until it dropped. First kill and it dropped. :awesome:

Nice!!

I am getting to the Felhounds consistently then dying. I'm not getting my Pit Lord out of the way fast enough. There is a reason they put a repair anvil in that room :)

Nice. That's the part that has me worried. Everyone seems to have issues with that part, there is just a lot to do in a short amount of time.

I went through the quest up until the BT part. It's too bad other classes don't have something like it. It's a fun distraction, and reminds me a bit of the questlines to get the mounts.

Looks like Garrisons got tweaked. The original idea was that you could pick a plot in a zone and build your Garrison there, but they have since changed it to a single static location per faction. Horde will have an area of land in Frostfire Ridge, while Alliance will have an area of land in Shadowmoon Valley. Kind of sucks since I liked the customization option of choosing the location.

On the brighter side, they are supposedly doing this to make the Garrison more integral to the gameplay and allow greater design to be focused into the Garrison. One example they gave is that now you can get rewards and such that will appear in the Garrison when you do quests, and they may even change based on how you do the quests. They also said that they are using the profession buildings as a way of infusing more racial diversity into the Garrison, so engineering may be goblin designed, jewelcrafting blood elf designed, etc.

Still one of my most anticipated features, but then again I am a sucker for build-over-time games.

So, they totally gave up on player housing, huh?

Then again, that's kind of a role play feature and they're all...

"Role-play... lol"

It's still technically a "player house" but it's going to be a static location, like the MoP farm. The whole point of the Garrison is to make the "player house" usable in game play, through the usage of followers to collect money/gear and the ability to add four more professions to your character.

Have they mentioned if you can invite other players to your garrison? And if you can join trade chat while in it?
From what I remember they said you can visit each others Garrisons since the beginning. You just have to be in a group with the person you want to visit as the party leader.

Photo from the set of Warcraft. Looks like the Stormwind throne room based on how blue and colourful it is. It's neat that Duncan Jones is trying to keep the colourfulness of Warcraft.

Oi. I got to the felhounds, but it's pretty ugly. Slowly getting better though. They make it look so easy in the videos! :p

I think I need to break down and redo my UI to get this done. I have a feeling it would help if I had my target down lower like he has in the video I posted. Too often I find myself not looking up to see what Kan is casting, and that's what gets me in trouble.
