Kags' Cosplay Thread

Kags - where do you get your bras?!? There's some seriously impressive structural engineering going on there, and I can never find garments that achieve that level of, well, cleavage. Short of corsets, which are not viable for everyday ware.

Victoria's Secret - The Bombshell. Best. Cosplay. Bra. EVER!! It's a crazy push-up, so I only use it when cosplaying, but if you want cleavage, that bra is the way to go. Expensive, sure, but the quality is fantastic and it will last you for a really long time, so it's completely worth it in my opinion. Now, go forth! :D

Bugger. They don't carry it in my cup-size. I shall have to continue my search for ridiculous cleavage. (Also, $50/bra is about average for bras for me, so this is not that pricey, at least on the scale of bra prices.)

Thanks for the tip though!

Now, back to your regularly scheduled cosplay.

Have you tried Lane Bryant? I know they specialize in bras for bigger chests. DO EET!! =^^=

Thanks, Kags, now I know a easter surprise present for my lady. Talk about easter eggs...

"Jay Begins"

Synopsis : Jay formulates a plan within a plan to convince his wife to buy a piece of Eden.
YOU'RE WELCOME!!

this is some of the best discussion in this thread ever, the men are drooling and the women are discussing calmly the pros and cons of brassiers.

I can get some tips from the wife, if you think it'll help (mostly it will be about NO SEAMS, I'm sure). Or I can drool a little bit. Either way, I should be able to contribute.

Yup - when I'm down in the States I always look there, but they are cheaply made, and rarely have any, uh, oomph. They seem designed to flatten not emphasize.
Fredericks of Hollywood seems to be the best bet, but even their 'fuller' cup sizes can be more squishy than lifty. Or cup runneth over issues.

Apparently if there's more material up top, you don't need the lift according to manufacuters? But gravity dammit!

It's sounding less and less like you need a bra and more and more a forged breastplate.

You should start a write-in campaign to get victoria's secret to make a larger version of the Bombshell line. But what would they call it? The Blockbuster? The Daisy-Cutter? The Bunker Buster? The MOAB?

I like the Bunker Buster!

And as I said, corsets work great, but are a) bloody expensive b) awkward to keep clean and so c) not entirely ideal for everyday.

Though I do love the idea of literally wearing armor on a daily basis.

The specific brand Kati recommends tends to change name/brand quite often, but it's currently listed on Playtex's site as "Playtex Women's* Cotton Bra"
And yes, it's seamless. So more about comfort than buttress.

*Really?

"The Stainless Steel Boobshelf"

There's only so much a strap can do, at some point I'm thinking a 5mm stainless steel looped wire support structure that helps lift the bottom of the cup by transferring weight to the bottom of the breastbone/top of the stomach at a close to 90 degree gradual bend. Not a corset exactly, as it wouldn't completely surround the body or squeeze anything

I was going to recommend this brand because it was started by one of the greatest engineers of the 20th century.

I was going to give a more specific link, but apparently here at work, the Playtex/Hanes bra pages are blacklisted. Huh.

Speaking as someone who's, uh, in the amply busty department, have you tried Soma? I just recently tried theirs, and not only do they have a pretty big selection for the over D-cup crowd, but the lift and cleavage are pretty impressive! And probably cost less than plate mail. ;)

Even though it's not the correct product, what about calling it the Bunker Bustier?

Maybe check out r/ABraThatFits? It's more about getting properly sized, but I reckon there are plenty of recommendations to be found.

I have not even heard of Soma! I shall research them! And if they're reasonably priced so much the better! (At this point it it's <$100 I'm happy.)

As for sizing. As most women could probably tell you, manufacturers claim standardized sizing, but from experience that's a great honking steaming load of BS. From the same manufacturer I range between 4 different cup sizes and at least that in band sizes.

Also, busty girl comics are awesome.

From what I've heard (what with my lack of *ahem* hands-on experience), bra sizes run kind of like dress sizes, which means they are, at best, vague suggestions about which realm you should be in as opposed to an actual, dependable size. One day we took a trip to this store*, which resulted in a bra which fit much better than any department store find, but which of course was a bit pricier. Too bad we couldn't afford to go there regularly.

*They have a charming poster depicting all of the different shapes as different types of fruit/vegetables/poultry.

Instead of a new bra, have you thought of inserts or shading? They're cheaper options which could maybe work for you? Sorry they don't have your size. And I wish I could be of more help. :(

HA! Not even - I can find bras that fit me fine, guess I'm not as busty as the rest of them.

What is this shading you speak of?

And very few places carry my cup size, but hope spring eternal.
Sorry for hijacking your thread!
