[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

This whole no-flying thing is really blowing up in their face. Considering how long the 6.1 patch could be from launch, among other things.

Also when asked how it makes sense from a lore/story standpoint, they basically said lore doesn't play into it, no in-game reason, etc. It's just about keeping people from zipping in, killing the quest mob/looting the items, and getting out, thereby missing all the random mob patrols and such.

What he actually said was that there will of course be a lore reason behind the lack of flying, but that's not the onus behind them limiting flying, since gameplay trumps all.

I really wish they'd give an option to cover the exposed joints. I've never liked how that looks.

Also, the Undead models are a bit too, uh, pretty, in my opinion.

Might get lucky and they will include the Chinese version this time, but still a long shot.

They will have ugly faces too, like the skull-like face that is on the existing model. However, they have to have pretty options, otherwise almost no one would play them.

Yeah I mean they've not really shown off any major facial variations, save for Male Undead, so we'll see I suppose.

Not that it matter a ton for me, as all my characters are Female Orcs anyway.

Am I the only one that doesn't care at all about the new models?
I don't either. Overall I'm not that impresses with the reveal for the next xpac. I can't stand the isle, and it looks like that's the sort of end game content they'll be pushing. Making gear stats change with your spec won't help with the tank and healer shortage either. They need to make it fun. All this will do is create more wipes and rage like we saw when they added timeless isle and all the easy to find gear. People didn't know how to play and wanted to play a tank or healer afk half the time like when they DPS. That doesn't work.

The garrison should be interesting. Hopefully it doesn't kill the cities too much, but we'll see. Personally I'm not a big fan of them.

There just isn't much that's all that compelling for me.

I freaking *LOVE* the idea of the garrisons! Love it!

But I still hate the Timeless Isle, even though I find myself running around it trying to at least one-hit a rare to get the loot. One character is a single Burden away from having all his armor upgraded. Now all he needs is a weapon...

Just started up again, how/where are people getting such mega-gear on like a day of playing? Just running the raid-finder? After a day Timeless Isle is lame.

Oh also should I spend time doing Isle of Thunder?

Run around and find as many chests on the timeless isle you can. You should have a full set of gear other than weapons, trinkets, and rings. Then run LFR and hope for the best. Also make sure you get in on one celestial kill a week.

Yeah, do as many Timeless Isle quests as you can, and keep a map of the rare spawns handy (similar to how IoT spawns work). There's a chance for every chest and mob to drop epic items you can right-click to make into a 496ilvl item. You can find one for every slot but weapon and offhand.

I only ever made one Forsaken character, but he was the one I mained all the way through Vanilla. For some reason, once Burning Crusade came out, I dropped him entirely. He had the unhinged jaw.

I actually played a female forsaken just because they had even more messed up facial options than the males. So I totally agree.
Ugly characters are cool and all, but you do have to realize they get played very little. There is a reason over 50% of Horde players are blood elf and 80% of troll female players pick that one non-warted face, we can be a rather vain species.

Speaking of troll females, you know the original model looked very close to the males? It was considered so hideous by alpha and beta players that they dropped it for the more sexy model we have now, even though it makes them look almost like a different race then the males.

This is why when the game released, the vast majority of players went Alliance, causing most servers to have a 3 to 1 Alliance population advantage over Horde, because almost all the Alliance races are considered more attractive. Blood elf was specifically added to Horde because they hoped it would help the population gap back then.

Man, Horde before Blood Elf used to be so much better.

I have no problem being a part of the side that doesn't feel the need to be pretty.

As a long time Horde player, who HAS to play Blood Elf because of Paladin I actually agree with you. If Paladin had ANY other choice on Horde I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Pretty much what Squidley said. The sheer bulk of the character alone is enough to keep me from race changing. I posted alot during the class Q&A the last time they were doing new class/race combos. I really wanted an Undead Paladin. Pretty much told it's never going to happen.

When I came back to the game I was surprised by how many more races could be mages, hunters etc.
Pretty much everyone can be almost anything. I think it's dumb. I liked it that Alliance had Paladins and Horde had Warlocks. It made each faction unique. Now there's really no difference between them other than character looks and which cities they can use.

Alliance always had Warlocks. It was Shaman that were Horde only.

It's worse to be stuck with two races (Tauren and Blood Elf) out of a possible 5-8 for your favorite class.

Bowielee's random thought of the day.

Dranei totems are boring as BALLS!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled WoW thread.
