[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

I really, really like it too. The character designs (almost all of them anyway), voices, writing and animation are great.

The only ones I don't like are Fishface and Dogpound, who both look awful.
Still kind of weird to hear Raphael's voice coming out of Donatello's mouth, though. That being said, I don't know why he wasn't playing Donatello all along.

Wait, what? Details, please? Kthnx.
Not a problem.

USA Today said:
The second season of TMNT will feature a one-hour special with special cameos by the original voice actors from the 1987 cartoon in their old roles, including Cam Clarke (Leonardo), Townsend Coleman (Michelangelo), Barry Gordon (Donatello) and Paulsen (Raphael).

It'll be a story point, too, that brings classic and current Turtles together.

"We all have a nostalgia for these characters in all their incarnations, and any time we can serve it up, we take the chance," Nieli says. "The trick is finding a way to do it where it doesn't feel wedged in, where you don't even see it coming.
"I really like doing that stuff because I do have respect for the old stuff," he adds. "I try not to geek out but it's more like you just feel some pride in what you've been able to be responsible for. Like, yep, there they are — Turtle reunion. It's not as cool as a Zeppelin reunion, but being able to bring something together, I'm thrilled I get to do that.

Freakin' sweet, and a full cast reunion too? That was the only part of Turtles Forever that bugged me. Also I hope they make at least three voice jokes with 87 Raph and 2012 Donnie, but I'm okay with one.

Finished season 3 of Buffy, not gonna lie
it was funny and satisfying as hell seeing Snyder get eaten by Demon Wilkins who is also my favorite villain so far.

That was a great Buffy moment. Fun fact, Armin Shimerman originally auditioned for the part of Principal Flutey, which is how he ended up getting the part of Snyder.[DOUBLEPOST=1376194240,1376193932][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hopefully this time, they won't make the original turtles complete idiots.

I really don't think any villain ever tops The Mayor. But I will say all the scenes with
Guys, Ben is Glory! We just saw it!!!!!!!
WTF are you talking about Spike?!
also still crack me up.

Holy shit, trying to watch Dexter (something I've been doing so far this season that feels like a chore more than actual enjoyment) after Breaking Bad was like being asked to saw off my dick directly after receiving the world's greatest blowjob.

Looks like you're out Dex.

Broadchurch - I watched the first episode on BBC America, and will be watching the rest. It's a bit of a slow start, but intriguing enough so far. Good cast, interesting characters.

Yeah I am interested in Low Winter Sun, mostly because of the principle actors, but haven't watched it yet for the exact same reasons.

Premiere of Breaking Bad was over too soon. Next week can not come soon enough.

Just came to post this. Very, very well done show with David Tennant as the main cop. And they kill a kid! I know that sounds weird that it excited me, but right out of the box the show puts itself apart from shows in the US. In the US kids are as indestructible on TV as they are in Skyrim. The show only runs 8 episodes and I don't know if they will be bringing more.

Someone hasn't watched
Breaking Bad.

Good point Charlie!

I wasn't going to reply to that "shows straight up murderin kids" thing, since I didn't know how without inadvertant spoiling
Yeah, I don't watch the show which is under the spoiler tag. And I guess that I wasn't as much as excited about it as found it refreshing that they took an angle that you don't see often on American TV. I mean, they sometimes do, but in most cases they don't give the family of the kids as much time as they did in Broadchurch.

Also
game of thrones, if that counts as american TV
.

I remember when watching Robocop 2, the though occurred to me when the kidvillain got killed that, you know, it's really rare to see a kid killed in movies/tv...

Reading that trope page reminded me of the old C64 game Mad Nurse, so I added it in under video game exceptions. If you do nothing, your nurse self just stands there watching babies electrocute themselves in wall sockets, fall into toilets with surprisingly strong flushing action, plummet down elevator shafts, or ingest boring old poison.

Wow, that sounds even worse than Bouncing Babies:

Basically it's the same game as Fire from the Game & Watch series. Only it's all babies coming out of the burning building.

So, to my surprise, Hell on Wheels still exists as a show. I thought it was cancelled. Haven't watched the new episodes yet, but I'm not expecting much after the.....mediocre at best second season.

I tried watching Low Winter Sun. It has a good premise, and a great cast, but... it has a terrible timeslot. I know why it's there, AMC knows Breaking Bad brings in the viewers, and they want to transfer that viewership to LWS, but any show is going to feel flat coming off of a Breaking Bad high.

Well, good golly Mizz Molly, season 3 of Hell on Wheels is off to a MUCH, MUCH better start than season 2. We'll see if it holds.

Thats good to hear, we still haven't brought ourselves to finish the second season, to much snoozeworthy stuff. The first season was really solid so I'm sad it didn't stay at that quality level.

Also: BREAKING BAD.

HOLY SHIT.

Dexter

Ugh, I don't know. It's not a good sign when I check how many episodes into this season we are so far and verbally groan that there's still about 6 or 7 episodes left. It's not that I'm hating it entirely, but at this point, I'm watching this last season only because I've watched this far, I might as well see it to the end.

Worse, I know I'll be disappointed because at this point, I honestly want the show to end either with Dexter's death or arrest. And I know that's not going to happen.

So far, this season has been pretty awful, but holy shit, nothing compares to how terrible bringing back

Hanna

was. AWFUL.

Poor

Julian Sands, he's not a terrible actor, but just from this episode of Dexter, you'd think he was the worst. His character was so fucking nonsensical.

Yeah, it's sad because once there was a time when if I saw a new episode of Dexter sitting on my DVR I would get excited. Now... I am just watching to find out where they are going with all this.

Yeah, the Hannah stuff is such a rehash of last season that I feel like it's impossible to understand how much time has actually passed. Cause it seems like she was just on the show but you wouldn't know that from the way things are plying out. Oh and I am calling it now.... the Doctor is the season's big bad.... not that should be a surprise to anyone paying half attention to the show.

Heroes of Cosplay was dreadful. Too much contrived drama and editing to make it look like basically no one was having a good time. Also made it seem like competing for money was something cosplayers do, when from what I've seen of the hobby, that's like maybe 5% of them, tops. The show was "bitch drama overreact, Yaya's cleavage, backbite grump, half a second of actually working on costumes, Yaya's cleavage, drama overreact get drunk".

It's so contrived in the least believable way.

"No one in the NSA, FBI, etc has had any sighting of Hannah McKay since she escaped."

Dexter spends 3 minutes looking at stoplight pictures, finds her.
