[Movies] Pacific Rim

Nevermind that if they have the technology to make plasma cannons capable of annihilating the Kaijus... why don't they just arm all their tanks, planes, ships and helicopters with them to wipe out the invaders with ease?

Well, if we're being rational about it, flesh based kaiju is easily pierced by small missiles or torpedoes, so developing a missile that would pierce and then explode inside the kaiju is trivial. And it would be far cheaper to make millions of these missiles a week than it would be to make even a few big robots.

Shoot, we are about the size of worms to them. We could even inject human submarines inside one with traction capabilities and have the humans tunnel around inside the kaiju until it dies.

Develop a robotic missile that enters the kaiju, roots around until it finds the brains, then mushes them up real good.

But the easiest course of action, of course, is to develop chemical and biological weapons against them. Imagine a missile that injects a few thousands gallons of neurotoxin into one.

As others on the internet have said, if you have the technology to field giant robots, you have the technology to do something a lot smarter, and cheaper, and more effective.

I agree, the "Rule of Cool" helps a lot. And made a great movie. Poor military tactics, but a great movie.

And after the kaiju threat is eliminated you could have a great pseudo blood sport going on.[DOUBLEPOST=1375387000][/DOUBLEPOST]Also Jaegermeister must sell so well in that universe.

"Jaeger" just means "hunter" in German. And since the program was "disgraced" by the beginning of the movie, maybe not!

There will be a kaiju/jaeger hybrid made from anything left behind in their world. Also, I bet Charlie drifting with a hive mind has some ramifications
