Despite being called Arab numerals, our numbers are actually Hindu in origin.
And I can say with confidence that my oil comes from Alberta (Canada).

As for the rest of that picture:
  • most of the oil in the USA doesn't come from the middle east at all. Canada was #1 source of imported oil last year for the USA, and Mexico was #2, accounting for the vast majority IIRC. Most of the rest is south america, again IIRC. It's Europe and China who are massively dependent on the middle east, not the USA/Canada.
  • Car might be german, or from somewhere else. I don't think the majority of cars purchased in the USA are made in germany, though there are some nice ones no doubt.
  • Pizza in North America has little resemblance to that in Italy. Both are good, but both are very different.
  • Only male landowners can vote? Who'd like to go back to that system? Calling most democracies "Greek" is like calling a modern wheel on a car no different than one carved from stone. (though given the problems with some electoral systems, the comparison may go the other way!)
  • Kebabs are everywhere now, though the word is Turkish, the OP is correct.
  • Textiles are often from Bangladesh as well, but India is hardly the only source.
  • The rest seems right enough (excepting what Chad said of course).
That being said, being afraid of your neighbor because of immigration is bad. Just don't use crappy made-up examples when trying to make a good point.

It works that way everywhere: Idiots who share the same view as you just make your job harder!

It's advertising something?
As far as I can tell, no, but if you look just above it, the newspaper added "Advertisement" so readers wouldn't be confused and believe this is a real newspaper article. Such marking is generally required for all paid advertising which is formatted and typeset similar to other newspaper articles. Given that it's a 1/4 or 1/3 page ad it was probably not particularly cheap. Likely a prank, but I suppose if the image were better one could read the entire ad and find out if there was more to it than first meets the eye.

You mean like some sort of cryptographic or steganographic message?
Actually... count the number of words to each period (instead of exclamation mark or question mark). Match the number to a letter. It spells out...

Absolute gibberish. Okay, any other ideas?
