Games on SALE!

If Blood Bowl goes back on sale (and it will) you should grab it. It's a ton of fun, and it'd be awesome to put together a halforums league and have a season for the championship.

The only thing that could ever get me excited about fantasy football is warhammer-fantasy football.

I just bought Kerbal Space Program for $3. I had about $10 in my Steam Wallet from selling trading cards.

There's too many shitty sales on games I want. Too many 30+ dollars after sale price games. Maybe it's because I already own all the inexpensive games.

Here's a fun little thing.

http://steamplaytime.appspot.com/

It'll give you a ballpark of how long it will take you to finish your Steam backlog. It also gives you the value of your Steam account.

My own numbers are depressing. It would take me nearly 4000 hours to finish all my games (3953.42 to be exact)

My Steam account is worth a whopping 3916.00

There's many a day left to go in the sale. I remember last year, something I want didn't come down to my threshold until the very last day, and it did the 50% thing earlier in the sale.[DOUBLEPOST=1373845672][/DOUBLEPOST]

Heh, interesting... 955 hours to complete my backlog, account worth $1026

Hmm... 1492 hours for completion. I should get going.

Also, this site claims 84.5 hours is enough for a completionist playthrough of Just Cause 2. To which I say BULLSHIT GOOD SIR!

Skyrim legendary up for a vote for next community choice for a piddling 40% off AGAIN. Downright insulting. This is a 2011 game we're talking about, even if it is one of the best games ever made... the discount should be at LEAST 50. Borderlands 2 went 66% and it's both newer AND still pumping out DLC, unlike Skyrim!

/first world problems, I know

They're probably keeping it at 40%-ish BECAUSE it's one of the best games ever made. They know they'll still make money off it.

Me, I've been considering getting some more Sims DLC, especially Pets and University. But then I thought how often I honestly have played Sims 3 and decided not to. If it goes any higher than 50% off (unlikely), I might reconsider.

Not my money. My threshold for that was going to be $20 bucks, but if I'm going to have to wait for a later sale anyway, I may hold out for $10 out of spite.

And keep pirating it, naturally.

If you can stomach Origin, they're having a huge sale on all things Sims. Sims 3 by itself was $5, whereas it was $15 on the steam sale.

If they are, I don't see it. Unless it's directly through the Origin app. Besides, I don't know if Steam-bought stuff would work with it, since I already own Sims 3 through Steam.

Heh, I think the game most worthwhile in today's sale is Football Manager. Though that might be because I've never played System Shock.

Alan Wake for $3 is a goddamn steal. That was a great game.

Also: System Shock, Sleeping Dogs, Mark of the Ninja, The Secret World.

I wish my computer (a tiny notebook) could run most of these games. According to Can You Run It, it won't even play Mark of the Ninja. :(
It is damn hard to find games that can run on a netbook. Even stuff that seems like pretty straightforward 2D stuff can actually be more of a resource hog than I'd imagine. (Like the Wadjet Eye adventure games, like the Blackwell Trilogy, which will run on a netbook, but will chug at points.)

Anyway, fairly recent games that have run acceptably on my netbook include:
- Torchlight (which has a special netbook setting, it still chugs but is playable)
- Wizorb (runs fantastic)
- Plants Vs Zombies

I've got Dustforce installed, but I haven't checked to see how it runs yet.
