Games on SALE!

Just got Borderlands 2 and all the DLC (except for the 19-20 million 33 cent costume packs). Downloading fine for me, but earlier my humble Indie Bundle items wouldn't redeem.

I now have 2 of those trading cards? One for Kerbal Space Program and some other game I can't remember the name of. What the fuck do these do?

You either sell them in the marketplace or you collect them to get Steam levels. Not sure what Steam levels do yet, but they are planning on making them at least a little useful.

Just seen on Reddit:

Amazon's price matching the Steam sale, and offering an additional 15% off with the code "gooncave" at checkout.

I just checked, and while Amazon's not price matching the flash sales and community choice sales, they are apparently matching the daily deal sales.

EDIT: The code is one use per account.

My wish list has one game at -50%, one at -66% and one no discount atm. I'm still waiting for everything to drop further, but that'll mean trying to snatch them during flash sales, most of which I'll miss...Hrmmmm....

They might drop for a day during the daily sales too.

Snagged a couple Borderlands 2 season passes for me and the little woman at -66%, 10 bucks each. Fair 'nuff. Still waiting for Crusader kings 2 and the other 7 things on my wish list. But I also have the feeling Skyrim will be a winter sale purchase instead of summer.

I'm on the same boat for Skyrim. Winter Sale will probably have the last of the DLC at like 60-75% off.

Been trying to pick up the DLC for XCOM for the last 3 hours to no avail. Error every time.

Steam, get yo shit together.

I would recommend getting FTL for that price. For the full $10, personally I felt it was a little over rated and repetitive, but my thoughts on it seem to be in the minority.

I thought about getting Farcry 3, but it still isn't cheap enough for me to justify getting it. Like Frank said earlier, I own so many games on steam already that the sales are becoming less interesting for me.

So...am I the only one who thinks this whole trading card business is pretty stupid?
If you don't want them, you can always sell them on the market. It was something like $.50 a card during beta. That's not a whole lot, but if you play enough then it's possible to sell enough of these to help pay for a game.

Alternatively, you can trade them to someone else. If you get a foil or two, I'm sure someone would be willing to trade you a game for them.

Same here, though with FF 13. In the first 20 minutes of gameplay, I made the decision to turn that piece of shit off and never play it again.

I must be the only one in the world who thought FF XIII wasn't that bad. I knew what I was getting into before I even started, hence no disappointment.

I knew what I was getting and was still stunned by how bad things were. And when I got to the point where everyone said it got better? Instead it got worse.

Anyone have any experience with RPG Maker? My son wants to learn how to make games.
I've used two versions, the old Playstation version which was a piece of garbage, and then PC 2003 version which was very complex. Considering this is RPG Maker XV, I expect it to be a good program. That said, your son's use of it will depend on his age. I was 15 when messing with that stuff. It didn't teach me much about making games--more about logic programming, which helped me get through my computer math class in college.

For those looking at the Tomb Raider sale going on right now, you should also know that Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Underworld are also currently on sale, for a whopping $0.80 each.

I've been pretty unimpressed by the sales. 50% off is not near enough to get me to try Resident Evil 6 and the apparent good Resident Evil, Revelations, isn't even for sale.

My rule is generally to wait until it's either 75% off, or $10 or less (hence, 66% off Borderlands 2 season pass = $10 = pounced upon).

Revelations isn't really that good. I guess compared to RE6, but they both share similar problems from what I've heard of RE6.
