Krisken's art stuff, previously all 40k miniatures

Thanks Ash! I'm digging the little guy, too. I'm looking at ways right now to easily duplicate him. I'm thinking it may require rubber molding for speed and accuracy of copying. I hate using that stuff though as it's so darn messy.

Well, not giant, but yeah, buzzsaw tanks is pretty much the idea here. They'll be beast size, fitting the cavalry bases for 40k. They come in units which are 5-20, so they should look pretty awesome by the time they are done.

I know I said 14, but eventually I want 3 squads of 20. 60 will be super timely.

Oh, and it took an episode of Psych to apply the tape, paint the lines, and remove the tape again. ;) I'm looking at 14 hours just on the stripes.

That bad, eh? I don't have any experience with the newer Necron kits. I know the Monolith was a super pain in the ass to put together.

I'm gravitating back toward CSM again, starting to work on the Landraiders again. WOOT! Eventually I'll be building 3 scratch Heldrakes as well, which should make people SUPER happy with me. That list will be Typhus, Lvl 2 unmarked Sorcerer, 30 zombies, 10 cultists, 2 Land Raiders, 3 Heldrakes. Land Raiders to pop transports and protect troops while Heldrakes swoop in and burninate everything else. All for a lovely 1500 points.

That's about how my Eldar Forge World stuff was too. It was a good thing I knew how to put together a Wave Serpant, or the Warp Hunter would have been nearly impossible!

Yeah, there's very little in the way of online tutorials for this guy too. There's a very good one, but the guy goes through and drills holes in it for guide wires and all sorts of crap I don't want to have to do.

I'm thinking it may be a little more advanced than I'm ready to tackle, so instead I've moved on to the Thousand Sons I got ready to go.

Ok, big progress made. The twin-linked heavy bolter is done, hatches at the top are made, lights for the front are done, and even made progress on the side las cannon turrets.

I sure hope so, Frank. Right now I'm just happy they're turning out as well as I'd imagined. In the past my side turrets weren't all that impressive and I really wanted to change that. I think this is a much better representation of the model.

Plus, when I show them off I can say "Yup, everything was scratch built, no pre-made parts were used! That's my big goal right now.

Thanks, Frank! I used a plastic rod, copper tubing, some For Sale signs, and duct tape (for the rings). I used the dremel to get the angle on the front piece by cutting the copper tubing at an angle.

You probably mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I either didn't see it or had forgotten, but I can definitely get behind a Kornish Land Raider.

That looks pretty great. You might want to introduce some burns or melt a few spots to make it look like it's been in a battle before you paint it.

Painting has begun. The fade of color from light at the top to dark at the bottom isn't a trick of the light, but intentional.

I got my Imperial Armour 12 book. The Necron stuff in there is SOOOO RAD.

I am not going to be able to afford food.

Ouch, I bet! I get a feeling there isn't a whole lot in there for me (being a Chaos Daemon/CSM player primarily). Imperial Guard and Space Marines get all the toys. :(
