He's not "Shitting all over a franchise", he's just AT THE WORST, making a version of it you don't like. He's not ripping every comic book up or trashing every copy of the third movie where they travel in time (lol).

Everytime after watching the horrible movie, when you go back and rewatch the movies that were good (yes even the 3rd one) and reading the comics, your memory of the series is no longer the pristine, nostalgic, enjoyment that it was before. Now everytime you look at these things you love, you are reminded of the thing that was terrible and will forever on. It's a rain cloud of shit over your sunny day of warm memories.

I completely disagree with you. Shitty remakes don't tarnish my enjoyment of the original movies at all. I think it actually is your own personal issue if you let shitty movies tarnish your experience.

Well to be fair, the first movie was a pretty good adaptation of the comic book. Ironically the show was a terrible adaptation of the comic, yet still some-how a good show. Probly cos they changed SO much that it became its own thing.
Isn't it awesome how exceptions exist but are sadly a minority? Not to mention how long it took for anyone to fund a project after those disasters?

Well I can't say I didn't like the Nolan movies, but I didn't go gaga over them. I never understood the love for Ledger's Joker. I mean let me clarify. He was well-acted, and creepy. But he was just a vanilla movie sociopath. He lacked any, well, Joker-ness. He could've been cut and pasted from any number of 90s action movies.
Except the whole burning of all the money just for laughs or having the hero choose to blow up one boat or the other in an attempt to drive him to insanity just like him or any of the other situations that most 90s villains would have been doing it for the money or using the boat explosion thing as a chance for a get-a-way?

The point being that the sociopath-as-villain is fairly common in the movies, and nothing really set his Joker aside as the Joker other than the makeup (in my opinion--feel free to have yours). For me, burning the money to make a point or trying to drive the protagonist insane are actually exactly the kinds of things I expected. In my opinion, driving the hero insane by presenting his wife's head in a box seems decidedly more effective than blowing up boats full of strangers.
