To put it in perspective:

Serving size: 8 oz
Calories: 100
Sodium: 30 mg (1% daily value)
Total Carbs: 27 g (all sugar carbs) (9% daily value)

Servings per 2 liter bottle? 8
Servings per 10 - 2 liter bottles? 80

Calories: 8000
Sodium: 2400 mg (80% daily value)
Total Carbs: 2160 g (720% daily value)

Ho. Lee. Shit. And that's if she didn't EAT anything!

It was all about the caffeine for me. I don't like coffee, or I probably would have been a starbucks junkie.

Each 12 ounces of Coke has 34 mg of caffeine. 10 - 2 liter bottles has 676.28 oz. That's 1,916.127 mg of caffeine each day. Why did she have a heart attack? Gee, I don't know.

By the way, Mayo clinic says that over 500 mg a day is dangerous to your health on an extended basis. This is nearly 4 times that amount.

Hell yeah. 200 or so a day was what I was getting, I think. Much more than that, and I turned into Foamy the squirrel.

I would've thought you'd say Shakes the Clown, instead.

No, believe it or not, I'm never a downer. I just can get a little... harsh... with excessive amounts of stimulants. And my metaphors get a lot more colorful and involve more orifices, more blunt force trauma, and generally come rapid fire.

I drank an entire 2-liter in a day a couple times (mainly at my first job at a pizza place, where we didn't have water cups and the tap water was always lukewarm), but jesus. Ten liters a day? I'm of the opinion that her heart didn't "stop" so much as beat too quickly for the EKG to pick up.

Ha! It crossed over into the SPEED FORCE

The only time in my life when I drank a ton of soda was when I was a busboy. Employees could help themselves to the soda dispenser. I have a crippling weakness to Dr Pepper when its available.

Now I try to only drink soda as a mixer.

For me it's pizza, burgers, or hot dogs. I couldn't imagine going to a Giants game and having water with my hot dog. It would just be wrong.
I was the same way, especially with pizza and Chinese food. Get an unsweetened ice tea or lemonade instead.

I mostly stopped drinking soda after the age of 20. I just don't really enjoy the flavor anymore. Dunno why. Perhaps it's because I moved to the US and they don't use real sugar? Sometimes I crave fanta during the summer. But really, a few sips and I'm good. Craving satisfied. More than that and I feel like I am force feeding myself. Which I've finally come to realize is a really stupid thing to do with any junk food.

Like others in here, I only drink pop/soda/bubbles/soft drink with certain meals or in certain places. With a Pizza Hut pizza, or a McDonalds hamburger, I do'nt think a good fresh orange juice will taste decent. Other than with that kind of crap, when you KNOW you're eating crap and drinking crap to match....Well, no.
Oh, also when I'm drunk and tired. I might have a coke then.

Otherwise, water all the way. I've had to cut back pretty hard, as I *was* going through over 10L a day at one point. Now I try to stick to a maximum of 4L of water a day...Which is easy on some days, harder on others.

Back when I was a teenager I would drink a lot of coke when lanning with my friends.

I wouldn't have been drinking in an entire weekend what she managed in a day
Not even if there was a game of DnD mixed in.

I have to admit to not actually reading the article linked in the OP; but according to the article on MSN, she also smoked 30 cigarettes a day. I'm sure that was a contributing factor in her death as well. Or the fact that the article said she "didn't eat much." Sounds like she was getting the vast majority of her nutrient intake from Coca Cola.

If I had 8 kids and was in my 30's I'd kill myself with cigarettes & whatever else I could get my hands on.

It's a sad & strangely funny story, but I feel sorry for her 8 kids.

According to ABC news she "had her teeth extracted several years ago.
But of course, none of these things were signs that maybe, just maybe, she should have taken better care of herself; and therefor it's the soda industry's duty to prevent things like this from happening again by increasing the amount of warning labels on their products.

Holy shit, even with 4 patties, how do you manage 10000 calories in a burger? How fucking big are those patties? What kind of nonsense super saturated fat goo must be used everywhere else?

Maybe the cheese is actually "cheese flavoured fat product"?

That really is a brutal number of calories if true.

Allerman was, at around 180lbs, not particularly overweight.
However, approximately 40 pounds of that was cholesterol built up in his arteries.

I shouldn't make jokes. A man died, and that's not funny. But it does seem poetic. Eating that food really is awful, and I don't know why people go there.

The owner even told him, "if you keep eating this way you are going to die." The guy died at the bus stop in front of the restaurant.
