Video Game News and Miscellany

I still hold that the thing making Ninja Gaiden and some Castlevanias harder than they should be is the stupid knockback when you're hit. 90% of the time it sends you right into a pit.

I think starcraft tournaments would be much more interesting if they put a hard limit on APM of 10. So you had to have some strategy behind where you spend your click every 6 seconds.

It would be like watching a chess game.

Boooooooooring.
You do know that the units keep moving and fighting even if you don't click, right? You don't have to click once per frame to keep the units moving and fighting, despite what watching koreans might convice you.

Deja vu.. Just like when mythic started making Warhammer Online, I got super hyper excited and then...

Oh. Warhammer FANTASY. That's nice. I guess.

OH!

THAT IS FUCKIN' BAD ASS!

Damn....I kind of wish Creative Assembly would get a hold of 40K too.
Well, THQ seems to be doing alright with their Humble Bundle keeping them afloat a little longer, so who knows what'll happen there. I think Relic's done a pretty solid job with 40k, though, so I don't mind.[DOUBLEPOST=1354836901][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm hoping this means someone else will allow WAR to go F2P.

Well, unfortunately, Guild Wars 2 has everything I hoped WAR was going to have and did everything WAR had better. Even if warhammer does go F2P, I can't think of why I'd go back.

!

So this exists and will be available in a little over a week.

Usually I'm ready to go at the drop of a hat at how Capcom generally treats Mega Man. I want more 2D Mega Man and I'll take it any which way I can get it.

I'd pay for it on a console if it isn't shit but free on PC isn't bad. I just prefer PS3 controller and living room for Mega Man.

The game was made in 2010 by indie devs parodying Capcom's business model. Capcom threatened to sue them, so they took it down. But Capcom's hurting for good PR right now, so they hired on the indie devs to get the work and use it for the 25th anniversary they've spent the better part of the year ignoring and shitting on.

Capcom had no part in this. They simply bought it from people they already threatened with a lawsuit in order to not look like total assholes for awhile.

I do love me some Mega Man 2D, actually kind of glad Legends got cancelled, since I don't want that to become Mega Man. I wasn't crazy about the grid based RPG games, either.

Hell, I'd love to see an x revival. But...Capcom probably would never do that.

So...not being from the Pokemon generation, is this news to get excited about, or is it just a curiosity?

Now the 3-D battle phase I love , it actually looks like a real battle-field but the Pokemon seem a little too spaced apart. Ah well, its in beta I'm sure they'll fix it.

So...Capcom is still evil? Okay then. Between this and NOT FUCKING TRANSLATING THE GOD DAMN MILES EDGEWORTH ACE ATTORNEY SEQUEL THATS BEEN OUT FOR YEARS they have some nerve. And I though they were being nice for once- HA! There is NO such thing as nice Capcom!

Legends was a fantastic series. 3D can exist with 2D.

Yes, Legends was a fantastic game series that didn't sell because of lack of advertising. It's unique (for the time and series) story emphasis and memorable characters stole the show in a game that could have been ripped straight from an anime.

Honestly? I'm mad that they cancelled Legends 3. However, they could regain some of that good will by doing SOMETHING with the franchise. Hell, why not do a comic/manga? The current Archie Comics Mega Man series is AMAZING, even better than the Sonic series they've been doing for years (and they are getting a cross-over series soon too). The fans might not be happy they aren't getting the game, but they would still love to know what happens. Mega Man Volnutt has been on the moon for over a decade!

To those who might doubt my statements, compare the video Capcom released with this video from 2010.

It's the same Ryu fight, on the same stage, with the same background and same attacks from Ryu.

Man that looks fantastic. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Also, there's whatever this is (most speculate the next numerical Metal Gear Solid, because who the hell gives their MC a mullet besides Kojima):

The fungus beast things have been around since they annouced it but have always taken a backseat in any media to the actual monsters.
