Ugh...Okay, I know I've done this a few times, but for the last few weeks, I've been feeling that Geek Life is...just not what I'm supposed to be doing. I enjoy plotting the stories and writing it, but I'm having a hell of a time drawing it. I've given it a lot of thought...

I'm not drawing the right comic.

It's because of a lot of things. My grandfather is fighting stage four cancer, and we're having as many good days as bad. The holiday season has been extraordinarily stressful this year, and it's not going to ease up anytime soon. I'm being utilized in some tough rooms at the school, an those days feel awful long - I get requested most of the time by those rooms because, well, I kick ass. I came off some of the powerful meds i was taking for my kidneys, and that process involved a drop in energy and rapid weight loss. i've really only recently evened out. Overall, it's been rough for close to a half a year so far, and I've been drawn back to familiar, comfortable things.

Now this does not mean I want to abandon Geek Life, not by any means, but I'm dying to go back to Pixel, to draw those fun Zaptronics - characters and ideas I've felt connected to for years. Aching for it, really. I put Pixel on hiatus around the time I was diagnosed with acute kidney disease, but I've come a long way in terms of recovery, and I miss Pixel. I wasn't myself for over a year dues to the meds, and I'm feeling like myself again. And Pixel is me.

So I'm coming here, among friends, seeking an artist for Geek Life. I want to write it, and I've got a great many stories to tell, but I feel like if I worked with another person, writing it, I could do more, possibly even connect it to the Pixelverse. I just know that as it's going now, I'm going to burn out on this project.

If you're interested, it's a for-fun project, with virtually no prospects for turning it into an income generator, but it would be funny, and original, and a real Halforums project.

drifter, you would be perfect for this, man. Your style would fit perfectly.

Huh. I've actually considered asking if anyone had a short story idea they wanted to collaborate on. But here's the thing; I tend to lose interest in things fast (e.g. my still unfinished short skirt/long jacket woman, among a litany of other half-assed ideas). I'm not sure you'd want to deal with someone like that.

Dude - I AM someone like that. My longest comic ran while I worked with a partner. I'm pretty sure I could keep it interesting for you. Let's combine our creative ADD.

Aw, I was going to apply for the position with my awesome stick figure drawing skills!

Of course I'm nowhere near as good at stick figures as shirt guy tom, nevermind randall munroe, but if things don't work out, keep me in mind!
Who says I couldn't already have a stick man project? I've got more ideas than I can ever draw in my lifetime...

Edit - whoah - that avatar in the quote...

Just a shame, you know.

Panel 1: Two stick figure characters walking down the street.

Guy 1 - My girlfriend made me take this personality test out of one of her magazines. Turns out I'm a pessimist.

Panel 2 - same imagery

Guy 2 - My wife made me take that one, too! Apparently, I'm a cautious optimistic.

Panel 3 - a cop moves out in front of them, laying down caution tape.

Panel 4 - zoom out, showing a car wrecked on a tree; the two just staring at the tape in front of them

Guy 2 - Damn, there really is something to those tests.

That kind of stupidity could have been ours, Stien...
