What, no Pokemon Go thread?

At least these will be soloable.

I know that there are options in cities to join Facebook or other raid communities, but I've never seen another person at a gym out here at the same time I've been there, so I'm fairly confident that I have to solo this stuff.

Yesterday at lunch I participated in an Entei raid and managed to catch Entei, with my first ball.

Today at lunch I participated in another Entei raid and managed to catch another Entei, again with my first ball.

I plan to find another raid tomorrow at lunch. If I get a catch again with my first ball, I'm buying a lottery ticket.

I'm a bit slow and unhelpful atm because both typing and playing PoGo are annoying with my hand in a cast, but there's a week-long event going on where all trainers together have to catch 3 Billion Pokémon to unlock everything.
Anyway, we've already passed the first level, with 6hr lures and double XP. Next up, probably tomorrow, double stardust. Top tier unlocks Farfetch'd around the world for 48 hours and Kangaskhan in East Asia.[DOUBLEPOST=1511375437,1511375306][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, but unrelated: https://pokemongolive.com/en/post/novdevupdate-raids

...why? I have a couple, but other than looking funky, they're absolutely useless. A vaporeon of the same level is stronger, faster, has more hp, and higher cp. In a fight they're easily the most useless "legendary" around. At least Raikou is stronger than a jolteon.

Finally got enough damn Magikarp candy to get my Gyrados. I could drown you in a sea of freaking Pidgey's and Rattata for each Magikarp that I found, over half my candy came from walking around with the dang thing as a buddy. Also, got my Far'fetched while in Dallas over the weekend.

I've always loved Suicune from the games :)
Aw man, Suicune from the games, also known as the unkillable one. Excellent defenses and typing, which could be boosted with moves like Calm Mind and Rest. Back in the R/S/E/FR/LG era, this guy could take down entire teams by himself.

I got lucky with Suicune, it was the first weekend and I was in downtown San Francisco in a parking garage when I opened the app and found I was near a raid that was ending in 11 minutes. Entered the gym and saw 18 people in, so I took the chance (with the free daily pass) that they hadn't started yet and we beat it easily. I think I caught it within the first four balls, usually I only catch on the last few. Never looked for another as I'm just looking to fill the pokedex, don't care about IV levels. I'll have to go hunting for this new one this weekend, shouldn't be too hard to find one through a discord group.

A) A new batch of Gen 3 Pokémon are coming.

B) Weather is being introduced into Pokémon Go. For screenshots, see the link above. There are some charts already floating around with what types will appear more frequently and/or will be stronger in what conditions, but since it hasn't been released yet, I don't know how trustworthy those are.

I've pretty much given up on ever catching them all, but some new stuff to catch should be interesting.

I'm now on 223 caught in my Pokédex. Some of the missing ones are pretty normal to miss (Aerodactyl, Miltank, regionales, Unown) and some are actually kinda strange (Dugtrio, Dodrio). Still quite a few "holes" in Gen2.

ALSO - the last update changes the way charge moves work in raid and gym battles. It's now a single press instead of kepeing it pushed down. This should help with people losing charge moves while being hit with one, it allows some Pokémon to perform one or more extra charge moves before fainting making a lot of raids easier, and it opens the door for Pokémon having more than one charge move in the future.
All good things, but the update isn't available for everyone yet.

I'm up to 240 caught, but I've had lousy luck with the Legendaries, so I need some new motivation. But nice try, Pokemon Go! You're not going to get me trudging out into the snow to catch Pokemon this time!

Yeah I will. Dammit.

199, and climbing today with the new releases. Not a chance at regionals or legendaries, have never seen more than 2 people together on a raid.

There was a Hariyama at not even 200 yards from our door, I was going out to catch it, girlfriend calls down to me to take her phone as well which was upstairs..."The wild Pokémon has fled!" when I was like 10 yards from its Pokéstop. If I hadn't gone back up I'd have caught it. Someone else I just ran into, from my own level, caught it at 2470 CP

Caught aan Absol and a Groudon today so, yeah good day.
But AGAIN no ex raid pass. And I did 5 raids on the gym where the local ex raids take place. Gah!

Otoh, the raids this time around are at noon on Christmas day. Who at Niantic decided that was a time window people would be able and willing to raid?!
