I've been reading LICD for a long time. I've also been reading LFG since it's start a few years ago. Lately though they've both just seemed so bland.
LICD spent about a week "telling jokes" about a baby that ate a bunch of Viagra until it was finally revealed that it was just blue M&Ms. Now he's on the hunt for the company's hot lesbian because....most lesbians aren't hot and he wants to do her I guess? Based on that and the one time he did some nursery rhyme but replaced a word with lesbians I have to think that Sohmer just thinks that lesbians is a punchline.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Lesbians.
That's a joke to Sohmer. A really funny one.
So if it's not a joke about lesbians it's just Rayne being inappropriate and doing something that should get him fired/in trouble/have some sort of negative consequence and yet everyone just loves him for it.
LFG has had a lot of problems of it's own. I know that action web comics move at a slow pace. It's just a problem with the genera. I used to read this comic called ZAP! that was the worst at pacing. A page, which only came out once or twice a week, would only cover a single action. One page was dedicated to him crawling out of some rubble, the next was him turning around, and the third was him seeing his enemy. A week and a half dedicated to about 30 seconds of actual movement. LFG is much better than that, but still lingers way too long on certain things, especially recently.
The last "issue" had about 7 pages that could be considered splash pages. Considering that there's only 2 pages per week that's a month and a half dedicated to single images. Forgetting those for a minute you can look at multiple pages of the same idea or joke being played out again and again. There's 3 pages focused on confirming that Krunch is, in fact, dead. There's also about 4 pages with Richard inside the crown holding up signs. Now Richard is in the dungeon, being asked to kill...someone.
Things are just moving so slowly that I don't really care anymore. I have to wonder if Sohmer is just not feeling it anymore or if he's too preoccupied with his other projects that it's just starting to effect his comics. Obviously his other projects (mostly his comic shops) should come first but it's disappointing to see the comics go down hill like that.
