    Thinking about a cellphone

So, I'm thinking about getting a cell phone. For various reasons, I've steadfastly resisted getting one, but I'm finally starting to think it might be time.

The primary features that I'm interested in (aside from the basics of being a phone and having voice mail) are:
    * Weather resistant. I occasionally get caught in rain storms. While I would work to protect the phone, the less vulnerable it is to start with, the better. Tropical heat is also an issue.
    * Rugged. It's going to be on a cyclist, or a bicycle almost continually.
    * Able to let me see weather radar well enough to get a feeling for how the storms are moving.

Any suggestions on where to start?

There's a variety favored by a couple officers down here that are damned-near waterPROOF - our Marine Patrol guys like 'em because if they drop'em, they've got 'em attached to little floats, and they still work if they take a dunk. I'll see what I can find out.

Stay the fuck away from HTC Touch Pros.

Seriously, worst piece of shit I've ever owned.

I'm not sure on their other models.

    The Casios look interesting, LordRendar.

Any luck on finding the model you were thinking of, Officer_Charon?

Going to Japan is an interesting idea, but may not be the most practical for my situation.

The next question is: What's the cheapest way to get weather radar on a cellphone? Basically, right now, I'm interested in voice and this one other application. Unfortunately, if I'm reading this right, there isn't really a good way to do that application without getting stuck with a data plan.
